1. How does ABC get away with airing a blatant propganda piece?
Same way that Fox gets away with being a GOP mouthpiece, thus Rasmussen polls are considered "reliable" amongst uninformed mental midgets on the Right.

2. Rasmussen is the Fox News of polling.
Still, it sounds like they're trying to make a GOP "win" more believable, doesn't it?

15. That Is Too High An Estimate
His IQ is in the 30% range, same as his popularity. And the 45% is how many want him to be the main attraction at the next Crawford barbecue.

8. Beauty Pagent Numbers...
The devil is in the details. While Democrats should run against booosh regime policies, they aren't or shouldn't be running against boosh. That's what Rove wants and takes the heat off the local Rep. The dude can have approval ratings at 10% and still people may not transfer that anger to their local rep cause he got a new road built or brought the federal widget factory to the district. I think by now the image is set...booosh is a total fuck-up. We don't need Rasmussen to tell us different...and whats it matter if he's 40% a fuck-up or a 45% one?

Remember, Mehlmann is spending money like its going out of style right now to distract and hope candidates do nothing but bash booosh and ignore other corruption and issues. They've got Oppo Reseach ads already out with more on the way...trying to force Demorats to debate a negative. Now where's ours? Almost every Repugnican has sleeze on them...this has to be brought into every district and once that drum has been beaten like crazy...then show booosh's face...not before.

9. Rasmussen is now lying with impunity! Evil whores are at it again. :(
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 05:27 PM by ShortnFiery
However, this sh*t is not playing well and The People don't trust the M$M to begin with. All their spin and lies don't mean squat when their deceit is revealed.

It's like after Katrina, Toto scampered over and pulled back the curtain to reveal "Darth Cheney" at the media controls and the coffers of Oz emptied of their wealth. The people of Oz (as well as this little Munchkin) are incensed and WILL HAVE THEIR REVENGE!

10. The closer the elections in Nov the better the poll numbers will be and
the closer the spread between Dems and Repubs. It's all bull shit. In order to steal elections the numbers have to be close so that we won't question the election results.

11. Fucking Rasmussen should be known as the Rove poll...
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 05:39 PM by LaPera
Manipulation of the media to get the other polls to raise their numbers...

These aren't stupid people...they know how to steal....slowly!!!
Rasmussen polls are bullshit, when EVERY poll had Bush at 31 to 34 % a month or so ago...Rasmussen had Bush at 40%

Rasmussen always has Bush (along with Fox and Gallup) much higher than ALL the other polls CBS CNN NY Times, WaHoPo USA TODAY Zogby, etc. etc.

Watch.... Bush will keep rising according to these bullshit Rasmussen & Fox polls to 51% (or more) by election time...It's a facade, a control mechanism to explain the results of stealing the elections...To coincide with the republicans 60 million dollars to smear democrats with attack ads - Along with the FEAR campaign by Rove/Bush to keep people afraid and...fearful and voting republican.

This is the Rove/republican election strategy and they need to keep republicans close to steal races where needed, to hold the republican majority via their Diebold electronic voting machines.

The fix is on...slowly and surely to November 7th...Keep Bush rising, but slowly and always a Rove/White House reason -(spin)- why. All along the way...It's bullshit my fellow DUers.

12. As what was aptly noted earlier "the fix" only works when the poll numbers
are close. The numbers will NOT be close come November. No matter what *October Surprise* Turd Blossom pulls out of his a**, it will not WORK with The American People who are abso-F**king-lutly fed up with Dear Leader and his Junta of Privatization and Wealth Redistribution Henchmen, i.e. from the middle class to the ultra-wealthy upper 2% of American People.

Nope, the RNC's "One Trick Pony" is played-out and "The FIX" may be in but it won't play out this time. Not even all King George's media whores can spin a victory when we show up in large numbers to Kick the Republicans OUT!

20. You're missing his point -- the polls WILL be close.
Regardless of the actual numbers, Americans (including most people on DU) will be left wondering how Bush regained his popularity so fast.

23. No, one thing the M$M leadership is NOT is "stupid"
They will not be able to stretch it that much to even show that it is close.

People are thoroughly disgusted and even the best actors in the whorish M$M can NOT pull off such a stunt. Note that they are exaggerating the truth now as "a trial balloon" and are getting plenty of negative feedback for such a deceit.

Let's just consider that "the third time" is a CHARM for the Democratic Party despite having to do battle with the Corporate M$M as well as the smarmy Republican Party. ;)

As far as Jim Webb kicking Felix Allen's butt for The Senate ... "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus." :toast:

The bottom has fallen out of gas prices... Here in CT its down over $.30 in the last week.

I figured this was coming, just in time to save the republicans.

19. It's the now the Fall Propaganda Offensive
That means phony polls and phony backstories leading up to an October Surprise (or two).

It means the MSM will fall into their predictable pattern of repeating Bushevik Talking Points as facts, even when they are demonstrable lies.

It means the footsoldiers and Freepers will begin freeping the polls and choking all message boards. They will be aggressive and successful. Blast e-mails are also going out, hell even ABC got into the act. They can smell the Hitler to and want to be on it's good side.

The MSM will dance to whatever tune the Busheviks will play.

Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I have seen this rerun before. And without an active and vigorous defense by the Dems (let alone some standing up for having our fucking votes counted) it will succeed again.

Give credit where credit is due: The Democratic Party is doing better, in terms of standing up and fighting back, than it has in the last six years.

However, ANYTHING is better than the nothing we endured long past November 2004, but it reeks of too little too late.

It's a start, though.

21. Rasmussen often skews towards a higher job approval
I don't take their job approval polls seriously, even though their polls of state and local races are credible. However, it should be noted that Bush has jumped three points in the Rasmussen poll since the 9/11 anniversary. That, combined with lower gas prices, is probably why his ratings are going up. I think we'll see Bush in the low-mid 40's again before Election Day, with a dip or two back into the upper 30's. Although, if we can make the case that he isn't keeping us safer (such as in an ad blitz) and re-emphasize why people have been pissed off at him for the last two years, then we might be able to put a dent into his approval.
