29. Don't we all, yet the whorish Corporate Media TORTURES us with her.
:grr:

I can't believe that CNN honestly believes that Americans want to hear their "Prime Time Lunatics" who are Nancy Grace and Glenn Beck, but they force them on us. All they care about is distracting us peasants so the Republicans continue to win elections and serve their Corporate Masters by permitting EVEN MORE MEDIA CONSOLIDATION.

Every day they put mindless gushing news-models on their major outlets, they insult the American People's intelligence.

Last night I noted in shock and disbelief at the HYPER-FOCUS on Anna Nicole and her son's untimely death. THAT'S AN ENTERTAINMENT NOT AN NATIONAL NEWS STORY.

Further, since this horrific shooting in Montreal, I find myself disgusted that we will hear NOTHING ELSE for 24/7 for at least one week. The whorish Corporate media rarely focuses on the Middle East or Europe.

All they know is that they must listen to both The Pentagon Advisers and the Conservative M$M Media Executives. Their orders are to distract and entertain: Bread and Circuses for ALL America's Chattering Classes!

10. I'm not so sure.
This was a situation with a mother missing a child likely in a fragile emoptional state and Grace berated her abilities as a mother.

If you've never seen Nancy Grace she will cut off and shred people agreeing with her if they don't use the correct Nacy Grace approved talking point for the day. I can imagine this interview was in her usual holier than thou tone.

When I speak of fault or blame I do not do so in a legal sense. But yeah Grace deserves her share of the blame and I have no problems with this sad episode being brought up every time her name is mentioned.

16. Yup, even before that.
When I reference the cutting off callers agreeing with her it was one of her armchair paid whore psychologists talking about the case and she called him a boy.

Well Nancy's head nearly exploded as she screamed at her lapdog that "He IS 18 YEARS OLD! HE IS A MAN!" That was someone agreeing with her and supporting nearly every piece of turd dropping from her mouth.

If you couldn't tell, I'm not a big fan ;-)

4. How sad. At first, I thought Nancy Grace had committed suicide.
That might not be too bad, eh?

Seriously, Grace should have known that this woman was mentally disturbed, if not by the disappearance of her son, possibly due to something else. A missing child is enough to drive anyone insane, at least temporarily.

Shame on Nancy Grace for picking on this woman, who very obviously needed help!

6. Can't stand Nancy Grace or her flaming nostrils of justice but---
<snip>
On Sept. 7, Melinda Duckett gave a telephone interview to CNN Headline News' Grace, a former prosecutor known for practically cross-examining her guests. Duckett stumbled over such questions as whether she had taken a polygraph — she said she refused on the advice of her divorce lawyer — and where, exactly, she was shopping with the boy before his disappearance.

Hours before the interview aired, Duckett shot herself Friday with her grandfather's gun at her grandparents' house, up the road from where she was living.

Investigators are still trying to piece together a timeline of where she and Trenton were 24 hours before she reported him missing. On Tuesday, they released the make and model of her car, a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse, and asked anyone who might have seen it during that period to call them.

Also on Tuesday, a newspaper reported that she bought a shotgun from a pawn shop two days before Trenton vanished. Padgett said police could not confirm that.

this woman may have already planned to kill herself and i'm not defending Grace at all here.

13. Duckett had taken a restraining order out on the boy's father
She might have purchased the gun for protection from him.

Although there's a bit of an inconsistency here: The police say she killed herself with her grandfather's shotgun. Assuming it's not the same gun she bought at the pawn shop . . . Hmmm. There seems to be too little information to draw any definitive conclusion as to whether Duckett was suicidal before Nancy Grace decided that declining to take a polygraph was tantamount to a confession of guilt.

You know, I have zero idea whether this woman who killed herself is innocent or guilty, but that's the point.....NOBODY officially knows.

When are people like Nancy Grace and Greta and "Throaty" Rita (who are are SO fixated on trying to be fake television DA’s in order to get ratings) going to stop??

Whether this Florida woman had something to do with the disappearance is for a court to decide......Not Nasty Nancy or any other pundit

Grace has no business pounding the anchor desk like that as though she's a police homicide interrogator. Who does she think she is?
<snip> "Before it was over, Grace was pounding her desk and loudly demanding to know: "Where were you? Why aren't you telling us where you were that day?"

Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 06:07 PM by amybhole
I've been watching every detail of it, because it's a pitiful story and there is, of course, a new break in the case on our news every five minutes.

When the breaking news came on last Friday night saying she was dead, nothing more, everyone in the restaurant where I was said "bet she killed herself" or something similar at the same time. And I, probably like many others there, knew nothing about the Nancy Grace interview. Bottom line, things about her have been fishy from the start, and evidence was starting to turn against her.

edit to add this relevant link I just stumbled upon regarding her state of mind in her MySpace postings http://www.wesh.com/iteam/9832600/detail.html

And where did you get the "information" that led to that conclusion?

That's right, the MEDIA!

So the media leads you to believe she is guilty, disGrace grills her and she commits suicide, and that proves the media was right.

Wait a minute. Wasn't that Bush's Iraq plan?

The woman didn't buy a gun.

DisGrace has no regrets.

And now I learn disGrace and company already knew she was dead when their aired the interview. How did they show their compassion? A mention scrolled across the bottom of the screen.

That's how much disGrace cares about victims - a scrolling shrug.

If only it were a a decade or so in the future - disGrace could get a job as commandant of the new Halliburton built Auschwitz.

intellect, common sense and schema.

It's what I, and many others, just have to do, as I am currently unable to travel the globe daily and/or time travel in order to research every single newsworthy event that ever happened in order to get the unblemished facts.

Either, which refutes the argument of some that "She should have known better than to agree to an interview."

The point, anyway, was that no news reporter has a time machine. That's why we have investigations and trials. Juries may not always be right, but they are far more often right than speculators. And at least juries judge based on facts instead.

That's all I'm trying to say.

43. Yes - this woman likely either killed or sold her child...
In her blog, she complained about the burden of having a child while looking for a man. (Remember Susan Smith?) She even sold her baby's car seat before she reported him missing. (Remember Scott Peterson?) She killed herself because she was about to be busted. Simple as that. Besides, the interview had not yet aired when she killed herself.

Nancy Grace might be the queen of tabloid TV, but to blame her for this suicide is a bit silly. Come on.

Asshat Scarborough is after her because she's a Democrat.

47. Well, Miss Judge, Jury and Executioner
No one deserves that kind of treatment from a low life like NG. The fact remains, even if this woman is guilty as you say, she was apparently able to live with it until NG pushed her buttons. Pushing those buttons put the woman over the edge. Yes, NG is responsible. I don't believe in the death penalty and I don't believe on giving NG a free pass on this one on the chance that the woman was guilty. It's bullshit. Plain and simple.

48. I can't stand Nancy Grace
but she isn't responsible for the suicide.

Melinda Duckett's ex husband Joshua had reported Melinda for making little Trenton cry over the phone to torture Joshua. When Joshua wouldn't agree to some demand or another she made during the divorce, Melinda would do something to make the little boy cry into the telephone, which always made Joshua give in. And Joshua also reported her for what he considered threats she made against Trenton. Joshua told police that Melinda said if Joshua didn't do what she wanted, she would do something that would make a lot of people, including Joshua, very sad.

Go ahead and blame Nancy for trying to get Melinda Duckett to tell the truth. I don't blame Nancy for grilling her. Duckett evading answering her questions and going on and on about how hard she was working posting flyers was exasperating.
