ABC News gets a "no comment" from ABC Entertainment? And pigs fly!
Sept. 11, 2006 — "The Path to 9/11," ABC Entertainment's two-part miniseries about the events leading up to Sept. 11, 2001, has been in the headlines for days because of fictionalized scenes that portray members of the Clinton administration obstructing attempts to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.

Because of the criticism, led by President Clinton, ABC Entertainment said it was editing some of the scenes. So what aired, and what was fact and what was fiction?

The first — and most controversial — part of "The Path to 9/11" aired Sunday night.

John Lehman, a Republican 9/11 commissioner, watched it and said the episode portrayed events fairly.

"It very well portrayed the events in a way that people can understand them without doing violence to the facts," he said.

<snip>
ABC Entertainment had no comment.

5. No... They Think They are Smarter Than We Are

which makes them really dumb and detached from reality. My question is, are these folks all wealthy elite that get jobs because of who their mommies and daddies know or knew. I would expect this type of mentality from offspring of the wealthy who are clueless as to how intelligent and informed we really are.

6. I think they did try to get comment because
they were embarrassed at the news division. Do I have this as a fact? no.

But, consider that they have standards they need to go buy and they are probably aware that they'll want access to all politicians, I think they would see it in their best interest at the news division to not have the thing air. Once it did, I think they probably would have liked to have handled it journalistically seeking the truth.

However, I'm sure they realized (if they hadn't already) that this is one of the big problems with media consolidation. Now they're screwed. If I were a true journalist at ABC, I'd be seeking a job elsewhere.
