could dyhradation on a plane to the Bahamas have led to a kid
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 11:56 AM by NVMojo
on meds to die of a massive attack of some sort? Anna Nicole Smith's kid. Just wondering. No fluids allowed and all.

Not trying to start a fight, just think this is all odd and was wondering.

1. Although you can't take a liquid on the plane...
you can get a liquid from the flight attendants once you are airborne.

2. It's not like you can't get water on the plane.
Either ask the flight attendants, or you'll generally find a stock of paper cups and a faucet in the toilets. Not the best tasting water in the world, but potable, and certainly preferable to dehydration.

7. I know there are some antidepressants that require lots of water
and I've always found air flight to be dyhydrating.

9. I do, too.
It wasn't fun taking an 11 hour flight recently without my 2 liter bottle of water, but I managed.

22. Try being diabetic
The body tries to eliminate excess glucose through the kidneys. I've gotten heat stroke from dehydration, and I'm careful in watching what I eat and drinking lots of water. Many Americans don't even know that they have diabetes.

3. Dehydration does kill
so, drink plenty before you board, or tomorrow you may die.

16. Maybe after a few DAYS, doubt if any flight would kill any normal healthy
person.

23. Too many people operate in a state of partial dehydration all the time
A bout with some bad food along with a hot day can be dangerous for many.

5. The kid didn't die of natural causes.
I figure he probably shot himself or something.

10. first reports said massive heart failure, then no illegal drugs taken
but anti-depressants ...20-yr old, in a hurry, not eating right, not drinking enough water, on meds ...I was just wondering. Not trying to start a fight or anything.

11. The news media reporting it's not a natural cause.
And that he dropped dead in front of his mother.

So I figure that "unnatural cause" is going to mean suicide in this case, and if you're going from standing one second to dead on the floor next second, the likely culprit would be a gun.

I'd think that if he were thirsty on a plane ride, he'd probably get something to drink when he got off the plane.

17. What about "recreational" OD, wouldn't have to be suicide. Also
hidden congenital problems could manifest. (like athletes that drop dead occasionally)

18. There's also reports of no drugs involved.
And I think congenital problems would still be natural causes, no?

21. If he happened to be on tricyclic antidepressants
and took an overdose, he could go from vertical and talking to dead in just that amount of time.

Tricyclic overdose causes a lethal heart dysrhythmia.

12. It takes, what, 20 minutes to get to the Bahamas?
If it were a flight to Shanghai, I'd entertain the possibility.

20. Who are they going to arrest?
I mean, he's dead so it can't be him for using illegal drugs.

A toxicology report will only show if there was something in his system that may have killed him, not who put it there.

25. Wow! The coroner has said some pretty wild stuff there.
From your link:

"Earlier today, Bahamas's coroner Linda P. Virgill did little to quell speculation by saying that she knew the cause of Smith's death and alleging that a third person was in the room when he died.

"We do know the cause of death but we need to confirm it with a toxicology report," she told the Associated Press before adding:

"I can confirm that there was definitely a third person in the room at the time of death and I do know who that person is.

"But I am unwilling to reveal that information at this time for various reasons.""

:wow:

27. I have no idea
The way she dances around there's no telling. She does make it clear that she thinks there was a third person and that his death was suspicious.

Who knows how this will end up.
