How do we stop the GOP from stealing this election , too ?
The Democrats should have seen what was coming in this last election when Ohio's GOP governor started putting in the faulty voting machines.
The GOP still waltzed in and won the election down and dirty.
They are on a roll. Why should they stop stealing elections if it's
working and who or how can you stop them ?

Last year, initiatives to clean up Ohio's elections should have won by 2-1 margins.
They "lost" by 2-1 margins instead. That represents a shift of 30% of the entire vote.

14. THANK YOU
I think we are really at risk thinking that a huge Dem turnout and vote will help us. These votes are getting flipped secretly inside the machines with NO TRAIL....the MSM doesn't question - hell most of the candidates don't question - exit polls are dismissed - hard to fight this

I think we need to run parallel elections in key races - parallel elections which will provide data to help show election fraud. Not sure how hard this is to do - but something has to be done to stop this crap

Edited on Thu Sep-14-06 01:32 AM by AndyTiedye
TAKE THEM TO COURT

GOTV won't help us if they prevent the voters we get out from voting.
GOTV won't help us if the votes are cast on hacked machines that make Democratic votes vanish without a trace.

We need to do whatever we can to ensure that our votes are counted.
The only avenue open to us to do that is the legal system.

http://www.voteraction.org

Otherwise, they can just make up whatever results they want:

23. The ONLY answer to this and our other problems
is to build our own news media infrastructure.

That is BTW how the far-right took over the country.

He who controls the media, controls the masses.

The average citizen knows little or nothing about this problem.

26. We need vote by mail with paper ballots counted by civil servants.
We also need civil servants registering voters and maintaining those registrations.

34. That's the most practical idea so far
If we GOTV and have that vote on absentee ballots, then we will have a better chance of being successful. We should make absentee voting part of our GOTV drive.

24. I keep saying that! I think it's just too scary for some to contemplate.
There is NO SUCH THING as "winning too big to steal"
as long as votes are imaginary!

They've PROVEN that they can steal any damn election they want,
and they will. What's gonna stop them- shame?
The fact that their excuses for the numbers don't make any damn sense?
Never stopped them before-EVER.

37. The only way to beat them is to hack the machines on voting day using
the methods shown in the Princeton video.

Get it? If the results are SOOOO screwed up that it totally invalidates the elections, the democrats WIN.

Use the GOP treachery against them. It's the only way, to beat them at their own game.

Why else do you think Princeton posted the how-to online?

3. How, indeed?
We know it happened. We couldn't prove it. At least, not where and when it mattered. We know it's coming. Will somebody have some proof this time?

It won't be the current crop of Dem "leaders". It's got to be the poeple.

4. I have been thinking about this
1. Call the media if we see suspicious behavior
2. videotape the behaviors (you would have to use a very small camera)

I am not sure if either one would work or even if thye are doable. But I for one intend to do something.

25. If They Too Lazy To Vote, Ya Think They're Gonna Grab A Gun?
Keep waiting for that "revolution"...it'll have to be scheduled sometime between Dancing with the Stars and the start of Football season...and by all mean, please make sure that revolution doesn't mess with my Jamaican vacation or the tickets I have for Pearl Jam next month. :sarcasm:

The bottom line has been that Repugnican are very good at getting their people out on election day and in numbers. It's not magic, it's not some Diebold trick, it's just plain a "good ground game" that has made the difference in tight races as the GOOP knows where these races are and puts their resources to make sure their candidate gets over the top.

I'm major concern Democrats are taking this election and voters for granted. They assume that since booosh is so unpopular that people are chomping at the bits to replace any and every repugnican. That's not the case...and the biggest let down I see is what happened in California 50 where the effort to try to snag Repugnican voters left the Democratic ones taken for granted and those people didn't bother to show up and vote. Sorry, it wasn't machines, it was a poor GOTV effort that cost that race and could be a major problem in November.

This is why its important that as many people here get involved with Election Day activities. Volunteer at your local campaign and be a poll watcher or help play taxi service. If we keep our people energized and make sure they get to the polls, good things will happen.

I'm tired of using Diebold as an excuse for any election lost. Yes, there are serious problems with electronic voting and the cure is to get as many Democrats elected on local levels so we have control of the machines. For those who think it's all a lost cause, what the hell is the use bitching about it then? You're so convinced the game is rigged, why bother playing?

so you can protest the election.

We're going to need enough people out on the streets demanding fair and clean election that the MSM can't ignore it.

We need to make those protests in Mexico City look like child's play.

Other than that, why don't we break into the storage areas where your localities store their Diebold machines, and smash them all one week before the election, to force the elections to be held using paper ballots...

(note to the mods, I only asked why don't we do it... ;) )

Step 2: Learn to recognize the demagogues and scoundrels in our own ranks, and stop wasting money by giving it to them.

Step 3: Help our Democratic candidates directly.

Step 4: Vote.

31. WE ARE UNDER SIEGE!!!
The GOP's stealing our votes, stealing our civil liberties, then sending our kids to go die in wars started by lies. We are under siege, and this election is likely our last chance to turn the right-wing authoritarian dominators out of office before this entire country gets shackled with the chains of fascism.

It's our last non-violent way of changing the direction of this country.

36. We need a message like "Don't fall for Rove's shell game."
While the White House and its minions (as on Fox News) push the War on Terror as a way of framing (i.e., "hiding") the Iraq issue for the election, we need people to bring it out of hiding.

Here's one basic approach (I'm sure there are many others):

"Republicans and the administration don't want to run on the mess they made in Iraq, so like a magician they try to distract our attention by covering it under the umbrella of 'A War on Terror,' thereby hiding their blunders from the conception to the execution of the war, from WMD's and Sadam-terrorist's links to the civil war which is now in full progress. It's a GIANT SHELL GAME dreamed up by Rove. We need solutions, not PR tricks or a magician's slight of hand."

Why can't we frame a message simply and compellingly in order to bounce these jokers. Almost all of the important facts are on our side, especially since the Republicians and the administration has been such an obvious failure by almost all standards?
