Bush is Kraptonite to the Republican Party...
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 10:31 AM by kentuck
Every time he gets around them, their knees begin to wobble and they start to sink in the polls. Many, with the exception of Rick Santorum perhaps, are quickly coming to this realization. Bush is the major threat to their "civilization" and their "way of life". They know now, perhaps too late, that they are likely to be in the minority, their rightful position. This was their 1st battle of the 21st century. Here's hoping they don't get another chance. They have proven themselves incapable and incompetent to be in charge of anything.

1. Kryptonite and a cash magnet at the same time
he seems to be able to raise $$$ like there's no tomorrow. Yet the politician for whom he is fundraising is usually hiding at an undisclosed location at the time.

The unpopular Shithead remains a cash cow for the GOP.

2. But they're Superman in this analogy.
I prefer to think of them as a fungus adversely affected by a bacteria called Bush.

But I take your point!

3. Not just Bush.
It's the whole ChimpCo administration, including the rubberstamp Congress. If it was just Bush, I don't think that their problems would be this deep. ChimpCo has stopped being able to fool the people.

4. Too bad they haven't discovered he's only the symptom
and not the underlying disease. He's just the culmination of 26 years of right wing radicalism that dismantled the New Deal, deregulated and privatized everything in sight, transferred the bulk of the wealth in this country in to the hands of a few families, cut social programs down to practically nothing, and presided over the wholesale looting of our industrial infrastructure by greedy corporations and predatory third world countries.

And the damned fools still don't get it.

7. They do not seem to think so here
The County Republicans just opened an office down the street from our Democratic headquarters. In their front window they have a picture of Cheney, next to a picture of Lincoln, next to a picture of Bush. Maybe the Republican Congressman will show up and ask them to take them down, but as recently as last March even our Democratic Governor was sucking up to Bush, introducing him in Manhattan and saying what an honor it was to have the lying sack of crud visit our state.
