Instant karma bites Disney
Apparently fewer international tourists are visiting Disneyland bacuase of the US' image worldwide and general hassles getting into the country:

I'm not sure if whatever considerations they no doubt earned from airing the administration propaganda exercise with make up for the lo$$es they're taking here. Coudn't have happened to a nicer soulless corporagtion. :P

1. and the pounding that'll they'll take from us
will draw a ton of blood, since by and large I would think that Disney was far more appealling to progressives and liberals but not so much anymore

2. It's not just Disney.
Tourism in S.W. Florida has taken a nose dive and it's the working class people out of the jobs. So I wouldn't gloat to much.

3. No offense, but:
If I have to live with my guilty conscience that I work in the Auto Industry, I don't see any reason to let Floridians off the hook.

Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas. It's only a matter of how long and how badly you want to itch.

4. Not that simple. Floridians are just ordinary blokes. The repug dogs
came uninvited and lay among them.

7. Hey, they didn't ALWAYS have those voting machines...
There was always a point in history where they VOTED IN the bastards.

I believe the common saying is "You have made your bed..."

I've worked in every community where I have ever lived for the removal of the rePukes. Time for everyone to start doing the same, or become a greeter at WAL-MART.

Who were our Governors before Bush? Since you seem to be so smart.

Know your facts before posting!

Michigan has had 27 Republican Governors, Florida has had 6 including the one we have now.

Want to point out some more facts in history?

11. That particular fact is meaningless
Mississippi elected more Democrats than Republicans, too. Just because they're Democratic does not necessarily mean they're progressive.

14. I didn't say OUR hicks were smarter than YOURS.
Except that William Milliken was probably the only Republican I'd have ever voted for if I ever voted republican.

Auto workers ARE Joe Sixpack.

15. They voted for Republicans. They got exactly what they asked for.
My condolences to Democratic Floridians, but for the state in general I'm not going to shed any tears.

5. No offense taken
I come from a UAW family, you don't have to tell me about the auto industry. Just remember Florida is not 100% red. It can be argued that it's not even 50% red.

6. True, this isn't a ha ha Disney moment, this is a screw you if you work
hospitality in the U.S. moment.

I'm part of a hospitality family that has seen drastic changes since the Bush admin has ruined America's reputation around the world. Anyone can gloat if they choose, but the reality is that many decent citizens all over America, not just in Florida, who chose a valid career path/industry (maybe it's more valid if you live outside of Florida?), have been adversely affected by governmental choices that have deterred foreigners from visiting the U.S.

12. Southern California, too...
Disneyland in CA was hurting prior to this past year's 50th Anniversary celebration. They struggled quite a bit after 9/11. They also had a hard time getting visitors here when they didn't have a lot in the way of new offerings. Florida's resort kicked California's butt in that regard--they had more going on.

I imagine things will slow down again soon, with school being back in--the 50th festivities coming to an end, etc. The resort will return to being primarily populated with locals as the daily guests.
