Relax...it's just a movie - "advice" from the SD Union-Tribune

Just the thing to get you going this morning. Here's a sample of our local Op-Ed section:

"The miniseries is over, but the mini-controversy continues.

Watching as complaints piled up about inaccuracies in ABC's “The Path to 9/11” has been like suffering through an episode of “Democrats Gone Wild.”

From what we've heard over the years, Republicans are supposed to be the big bullies. Conservatives are supposedly the folks who complained about how Hollywood liberals abused dramatic license to push agendas and malign the right wing, and then tried to censor offensive material or at least threatened to get even.

How illuminating to see Democrats – including former President Bill Clinton, officials of his administration and current members of Congress – engage in the same sort of brutish behavior in response to a miniseries that dramatized the events leading up to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001."

2. When I see LTTE's in my newspaper parroting the same lies stop,
I'll relax and follow the advice. Otherwise my advice is to be the fourth estate or burn in hell.

9. We have to care; they're the only game in town.
And every day several hundred thousand people have their opinions shaped by the U-T's right-wing swill.

10. I lived in North San Diego County from 1965-69, in fact I dated
the son of the managing editor of the paper.

San Diego has been a right wing town for a very long time. It's a given
that thousands of people don't question what they see in that paper.
All the usual strategies have to be used: LTTE, opinion pieces, etc.,
It's a perpetual battle. It's nothing new.

11. Farenheit 9/11 is just a movie, too....
but I'll bet the SDUT would shit bricks if it was shown on TV. And Moore doesn't make shit up.

Televising "Why We Fight" would probably cause the Copley papers to collectively shit cinder blocks!
