Better educated workers needed for auto industry

Don't agree with the article in that I doubt that there are many working in auto industry without a HS education. My husband has worked for over thirty years in an auto related plant and most working there already have the extra schooling this article says is needed thanks to the free college tuition negotiated by the union in the 80s.

Don't let in on the game here: promote technical training companies and get workers to assume the risk and investment costs that are required for schooling with absolutely no guarantee that they will be able to find work. In the meantime, import as much underpayed labor as you can using the H1-B visa program.

If people figure that out they won't be distracted enough by attending night classes and shelling over dollars to learn any skill that gets enough advertising hype to notice that their stake in the economy is being stolen from them. We have to keep them thinking there's a bright future ahead of them long enough to depress wages so far that nobody that works for a living has any level of freedom or socioeconomic power.
