Why is the republican "quick response team" so silent??

Usually it only takes minutes for Motor Mouth Mehlmann to be on the air spinning and smearing anyone with negative comments or even truthful comments spoken about George Bush. The echo chamber usually follows within an hour parroting freshly issued talking points, which are spread by the 'liberal media' via set up questions to hurriedly invited rabid conservatives who will feign outrage of the unpatriotic person.

DLC Dems are then invited to disavow any disparaging words of whoever the 'nut case' is who dared to speak out against the republican king.

Well, apparently no one has told the RNC that Keith Olbermann has exposed the naked emperor not once but thrice.
Maybe someone should send the RNC a link to these special comments made by KO. I am sure they would want to respond to them and maybe smear KO a little. I am sure they won't be afraid that he might reply with another of these meaningless comments would they?

2. Well, they pick their battles...

K.O.'s presentation was such a devastating shot, and so cleverly spoken as to be hard to attack... either they consider that shining any light on it would make it stronger than it already is. They don't want anyone to hear about it... and except for the limited viewership of the televised statement and a great many on the internet (which, alas, is still a small minority of the population), not that many have even hear it.

If only everyone could hear it/see it. I'd bet they don't want to give it any more 'legs' than it's already gotten. Of course, perhaps they're just having to think a bit to come up with an effective rebuttal/smear.

Or, perhaps, they just don't want to take away from the rest of their media blitz. It seems to me we've been positively inundated with the Republican message/spin (all lies, of course), for the last days and even weeks. That's just my sense of what I've been hearing and seeing (and aside from K.O., that applies even to the internet--though fortunately, there the Democratic message is present and accounted for too); it even seems so massive as to be almost unprecedented. They really went all out to pump 9/11 for all it was worth--and they haven't let up.

Indeed, it's their emphasis on 9/11 that K.O.'s statement was so effective. He pointed out the political elephant in the room.

3. I actually believe that KO..

I actually believe that the reporting by KO may cause them to begin to choose their lies a bit more carefully for fear of now being exposed.
During the news coverage of the plane take off and landings (John Mark Karr), I got a good laugh when the news reader warned the on scene guy to be careful or he would end up on the Daily Show.

6. Too Many Fires...This Is Something They Don't Want Out

I've seen a couple of critical articles about Keith in recent days, but no where near the attack we've seen in the past from the RNC and its Mighty Wurlitzer.

Two reason come to my mind. First is there are too many fire burning. Everywhere the GOOP is facing a splintering and demoralized base. Rhode Island last night was just one example of how the wacko right wing wants even greater power and is ready to destroy the party to do it. That's fine with me. I hope we see more Laffeys in elections to come.

Second is with the polls as low as they are, and no chance for this regime to turn them around short of another catastrophic event, the last thing Mehlmann and his asshats want is focus on the national issues. They said they want to fight things down and dirty on the local level. Be looking in the paper for a scandal or some strawman about your local Democrat to appear soon. This is the focus and lets keep our eyes on this.

Picking on Olbermann doesn't help the Repugnican agenda or energize the base. If all the fear mongering can't do it, nothing will. Making him an issue at this point only bring his words out louder and replayed in forums the Repugnians don't want.

If they're gonna go after Keith it's after the elections...stay tuned.
