Len Munsil will face Napolitano

Len MunsilWith perfectly timed 11th hour mailers and an endorsement from Sen. John McCain, conservative Len Munsil became the Republican nominee for governor this evening, making a mockery of polls that showed him trailing Don Goldwater.

With 83.3 per cent of the polls reporting, Mr. Munsil had 50.5 percent of the vote against Don Goldwater’s 39.7 percent.

Mr. Munsil says he credits his good showing to “grassroots support and a Reagan-like, conservative message” that resonated across Arizona.

Governor Napolitano is “excited” about the general election coming up, and looks forward to comparing her vision for Arizona to that of Mr. Munsil’s, said campaign spokesowoman Jeanine L’Ecuyer.

The Arizona Democratic Party immediately issued a press release after the news of Mr. Munsil's victory. It said "the party today compiled a comprehensive account of Len Munsil's distinquished record of public service. The results appear below:"

2. When a Goldwater is a moderate &
can't win in Arizona. And the Fallwellians wins, you know the party is a lost cause. The Red states if under their dominatiion would end up looking like Franco's Spain.
