No need for Olbermann to apologize
Noel Sheppard is one of the best writers at The American Thinker, and that is saying a lot. Just as are his columns and comments that have appeared on AT since its inception, Mr. Sheppard’s letter

http://newsbusters.org/node/7563

to MSNBC general manager Dan Abrams regarding the on-air diatribe of Keith Olbermann this past Monday is cogent, eloquent and passionate. But the request Mr. Sheppard makes of Mr. Abrams – to force Mr. Olbermann to apologize – is unnecessary.

On the contrary, those of us who have witnessed Keith Olbermann and his disgusting ilk should encourage them to keep talking. Keep shouting at the moon, keep their tinfoil hats at the ready, keep degrading the adult leadership that is in place and keep slandering the President of the United States. Rather than demand Mr. Olbermann’s apology, we should ask Mr. Abrams to put more of Mr. Olbermann on the air and let the ratings speak for themselves. Let Mr. Olbermann continue booking guests who merely parrot what he thinks. And rather than slinking away after offering what would be an insincere apology, let Mr. Olbermann and the others add to the mountain of evidence that the Left has amassed to prove its own myopia and treachery.

One of the more dastardly aspects of Bill and Hillary Clinton and their loyal stooges was their congenital reaction to dissent from their propaganda: Censorship. We saw it during the eight years of lies, deceit and stupidity of the Clinton administration. This tactic surfaced again just last week, when the philanderer and failures shouted with incandescent rage that the truth about the inattention to the terrorist threat allowed a foundation to be built for the attacks of September 11, 2001 might be shown. The incessant and forever incomplete “legacy project” needed to be altered again. Such a program as “The Path to 9/11” shoots yet another hole through the carefully constructed image that is all based on lies and incompetence.

Obviously, Mr. Sheppard is not asking that Mr. Olbermann be taken off the air permanently or temporarily. Mr. Sheppard is not asking for censorship. But what he is asking of Mr. Olbermann is impossible. People like Mr. Olbermann have no conscience, no moral compass. Facts are shifted and distorted until a sliver of “evidence” can be shown to prove whatever maniacal fantasy he has dreamed up for that evening’s program. Mr. Olbermann is not a journalist, nor a pundit. He is a man with a fake tan who happens to have his own program on a cable outlet that has difficulty attracting viewers.

have and they don't like to be faced with the truth. Note that whatever they do they work to call the opposition the same thing only they try to be louder.

Lies, deceit, stupidity of the Clinton administration? Think he needs to substitute * there instead.
Booking guests that parrot what he thinks? Think he means Fox intstead?
People like Mr. Olbermann have no conscience, no moral compass? Faldwell, Robinson, Dobson, Scaiffe, Cheney, Frist they have morals? Recommending assinations? Don't think that is moral.
Let those ratings speak for themselves!

Glad he is an irritant to them, let him continue to be thorn in their side and expose the miserable bastards for what they are.

Adults who can't even string together a coherent sentence.

He speaks so very, very well, if only the Dems were as well spoken. You can hear the pain, sorrow and angrier in his voice, he really feels the pain of 9/11.
I hated seeing the liars on the tv while I only felt sorrow for the past, 9/11, the lives lost, the pain felt by the love ones, felt by the rest of us in our shared pain.

I have so much respect for KO, he sounds like a man who has had enough of the lies.

Thank you KO, thank you so very much !!!!!!

"Even though it’s not fair and a glaring double-standard, the Left will indignantly howl at even the suggestion of making Mr. Olbermann or Helen Thomas or David Gregory or Molly Ivins or Eugene Robinson or anyone else apologize for their outrageous words and actions."

Why should any of these fine Americans be "made" to apologize for exercising their Constitutional right to free speech?

32. Here is the e-mail I sent this piece of trash
Keith Olberman's commentary was brave, heartfelt, and
it was the Truth.

Something the Giggling Murderer who squats in the
White House has not told since he has been there.

I often wonder how people like you sleep at night.

Knowing that we were led into a WAR based on lies,
fabrication and Fantasy.

Knowing that these monsters posing as leadership
allowed an entire US Metropolitan City to DROWN.

But then again, you probably sleep soundly within your
bubble, because like most right-wing freaks, you have
no conscience, no recognition of fact, logic, or
reason.

The people you worship and support are nothing more
than Power Drunk, common THIEVES and GANGSTERS, who
are neither clever nor articulate, possess not a shred
of ideology or conviction, who care nothing for your
interests or the interests of the people, but the
accumulation of as much money, power, and control that
they can get their hands on. What is sad is that you
do not realize you are nothing to them but a means to
an end.

At least the Nazis had ideology.

Like Keith said last night, "May The Country Forgive
You."

I will not be as kind.

Go Fuck Yourself.

Better yet, ENLIST. At least show us all that you
aren't a pant-shitting coward like the rest of your
so-called "leadership", especially Cheney, who NEVER
SERVED HIS COUNTRY ONE SINGLE DAY OF HIS LIFE.

Oh, but THAT'S right.....Republicans don't fight wars.
They send other people to do their fighting for them.

Enjoy this delusional time in history while it lasts,
you pathetic, irrelevant twit.

When the Pendulum finally swings, may it lop the heads
of you and your ilk right off.

Your comeuppance will be epic.
************************************************************

The world WOULD be better off without these people. I'm sorry, but it would.

Excellent response, but you know if it's read, they will only read as far as "Keith Olberman's commentary was brave". Hearing or reading anything factual (aka - anything that contradicts the right-wing talking points) is something NONE of the people who still support Bush is capable of.

35. They project like Nazis, the lie like Nazis, they ARE Nazis
For the moment, their murderous vioolence remains untapped. Sometime in the future, if these these trends remain unaltered, it will.

And it will work. Look at the Milgrim Experiments. And THOSE were performed on Americans from the Height of Old America. Americans with more critical thinking skills and belief of liberty than the walking zombies that today comprise the Imperial Subjects of Amerika.

Look what they did:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgram_experiment

For the Busheviks, who have already been softened by years of Nazi-style propaganda, dehumanization (of themselevs and their enemies), and cult-type programming (thanks, Rev. Moon!), the numbers will be much higher, the murder much more pervasive.

I only hope it is later rather than sooner, and that I will not be around to see it.

But it is coming, dear God it is almost certainly coming in some form or another.

36. Have you noticed that everyone is talking about Keith now?
That's the shiny lining of all this right-wing spew: we're not talking about O'Lielly. We're not talking about InSannity or the vile Coulter.

We're talking about a REAL newsman. Someone who looks at facts and calls 'em like he sees 'em. Not someone whose sole purpose is to mimick the right-wing media talking points of the day (I doubt you could get someone like Keith Olbermann to mimick anyone's talking points - the right's or the left's).

While I think that most of what these rightwingers say is a bunch of mean-spirited, ignorant bile, the fact is that THEY are in the minority now, even if not yet so in Congress. Most Americans hate the unnecessary Iraqi War, most Americans think, as Keith pointed out (not that wingers get metaphors), that the Bush Administration has done more to divide this country than unite it and most Americans think the Bush Administration has squandered the good will of the world after 9/11.

They're hurting over there - and, well, they're lashing out at the truth Keith speaks.

Keith calls his segments "commentary"- that is not false advertising. "Commentary" means it is one man's thoughts. If people don't like it, they don't have to watch. Has O'Rielly ever apologized for his idiotic commentary? Has Hannity? Shouldn't FUX apologize for broadcasting RW crap?

53. is this what happens when a bunch of hate filled nincompoops
dumber than rocks get together and call themselves the laughable "american thinker"...george orwell you were so prescient. 'murkin freeptards' would have been a more accurate title for this bunch of poseurs marching to a nazi drummer.

54. Noel WHO?
Even before the past few weeks and Keith Olbermann's OUTSTANDING commentaries came to my attention, I at least knew Who He Was.

Repeating our top story: Noel WHO?

Special to Noel: Go away, little man.

59. Interesting. Fits w/ George Lakoff's idea that the republican meme
is that they are the 'adults'

"Keep shouting at the moon, keep their tinfoil hats at the ready, keep degrading the adult leadership that is in place and keep slandering the President of the United States."

62. Really, Freepers- get over it. Stop being such wimps.
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 11:00 AM by Marr
Freepers, Olbermann said nothing more shocking or partisan than any standard Hannity/Hume/Cavuto/O'Reilley weeknight musings. The only difference is that Olbermann didn't have to lie to support his argument.

You know, I don't think you people really believe your "liberal media" bull. If you did, it wouldn't shock you so deeply to see an ounce of liberal commentary. That's what a liberal media would look like, Freeps- now imagine there was a channel that hosted nothing but that specific opinion 24-7. Now imagine it billed itself as "fair and balanced". Now imagine that it openly advanced lies to support the commentary.

You Freeps would go insane in a day if the tables were turned.

Wussies.

You have a sitting asshat who only puts people around him because they parrot his ideas.

I think Keith was fantastic and brave for telling the truth, even more so in a media climate that coddles this president.

71. I'm willing to sacrifice my time and personally investigate whether
or not Keith's tan is fake. I'll happily make that sacrifice  in search of the truth. ;)

Other than the uncertainity with the truth of that one comment, I find the rest of the text full of distortions and lies, but what else can be expected from the right.

Let me take this time to again thank Keith Olberman for his courage and for saying what so many of have had in our hearts. Keith spoke for me on that night.

:loveya: :loveya: :loveya:
