Colbert was very easy on Toby Kieth tonight....
He was much more aggressive with Niel Young, for instance....

I was a little disappointed....

1. Colbert's Character is a Conservative
Honestly, I had trouble following it. I was surfing during the whole thing.

3. I know that but he does go after the Republicans
by over exaggerating their views to the point of making them look down right silly....

2. I was extremely disappointed...
I thought he would take him on about the Dixie Chicks. I just wasted a precious 30 minutes of sleep, hoping to see a good show.

4. TK said some pseudo-gay things about Willie Nelson.
So that's okay with red-necks now?

5. Yeah, but Neil Young is smart enough to "fight back"
And have some fun with Colbert's act.

Toby Keith never struck me as that smart a guy.

6. I liked his "better know a district"...

...now that's something: he's put incumbants on notice. If they won't go on the show during election season, he'll put their challenger on instead.

Very clever!

12. If that were true, then why has he made part of his career
posing as the 2000 incarnation of Mr. Yankee Doodle Dandy....

The guy writes, or sings songs others write, that border on, no truly are, sycophantic in nature...

So yea, he deserved to be shreaded...

Cause like it or not, a lot of people look to guys like TK to provide them a moral compass...

He therefor qualifies as a commentator..

9. It'd be like making fun of a kid on the short yellow bus.
Toby's IQ and diastolic pressure are probably about the same. Hypotensive.

10. Colbert did right. It's good/smart to keep them guessing. I really like
that about him. He's in control of "it", not predictable, more original.

TK's bunch would just take it out on the Dixie Chicks.

TK talked in a positive was about pot, ergo looked like a red-neck hypocrit. That was enough.
