How long would it take Disney to call out their lawyers...
if someone made an animated spoof showing Mickey and/or Minnie doing the nasty? Hell, they'd probably deploy their lawyers even for an unflatterig Mickey avatar right here at DU.

So how is it that ABC/Disney expects to be able to portray real people, identify them by name and show them doing things they never did.

I have no links and this is only from memory, but when I was growing up in South Florida about 20 years ago there was this suburban preschool that made their own wood and painted character cutouts of mickey, minnie, etc.. Disney sued to get them taken down for copyright infringement.. It was pretty pathetic..

On a nice note, the Hannah barbara people gave the preschool cutouts of their characters after they heard about it.

<edit>....

I'm looking the sofla newspapers to find the original story <no luck> But I did find this fun little poll to DU :)

...President Bush is being criticized for invoking the memory of Sept. 11 to defend the unpopular Iraq war, even though Iraq had no link to the 2001 attacks. Was he wrong to make the remarks?

3. Doesn't surprise me.
Wish I could draw. I'd at least see if an unflattering Mickey avatar got Disney's attention.
