So I sent the YouTube link to Olbermann's commentary,
as suggested by Skinner, EarlG and Elad, to a variety of recipients from my address book. The responses are coming in and they are not pretty. These people are hopeless. I'm not wasting my time on them anymore.

Check out this one:

Why is it the government's job to rebuild what is not a government building?

Typical liberal thought- "government should run everything and fix everything,
and are responsible for everything", yet the libs do not themselves contribute.
Instead, they just point fingers and find blame with the same government that
they claim should run everything (at the same time they say the government
should stay out of foreign affairs)

The president is not to blame for 911. Muslim terrorists are. The fact that it
wasn't intercepted beforehand is only evidence that you can not stop all evil,
and it is not our allies fault when the inevitable happens. These people should
realize

Shame on Oberman for hailing "the terrorists have succeeded" supposedly because
the president has not rebuilt the towers. And if the pres did so, would he
claim the pres is wasting govt money?

Shame on Oberman for saying "the terrorists have not left the hole in the
ground...the president has. Maybe the country can forgive you". Do you not see
the immature lunacy behind such statements and senseless division that it
causes?

1. Tell the neanderthal the "hole in the ground" is a METAPHOR.
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 02:09 PM by Bluebear
"Who has left this hole in the ground" refers to the chasm Bush has left between the sides he prosied to "unite", not the failure to build a new building. I thought it might be too esoteric for the knuckledraggers to grasp.

13. Usually, it's little children who have difficulty dealing with
"gray areas" (nuance). "Mommy, why did you lie to Daddy about the car?"

The only time that Repukes like nuance is when their ass is caught and they have to weasel their way out of jail ...

4. So you have a lot of not-so-bright acquaintences on your e-mail list.
Really, if they haven't figured it out after 6 years, they probably are unable to deal with the subject honestly. They can't tell the difference between a Leader and a Decider.

19. Can someone who has access to post there tell those
idiots that, yes, Keith DOES have some experience in re-building buildings considering his father was a renowned NYC architect.

I think Keith knows a thing or two about structure.

17. It is very sad
My mother is a koo-laid drinker and trust me you can not get through the nut shell that is her brain. It is so sad to grieve simultaneously for our country that is failing and the loss of family and friends who refuse to wake up! I do not know the answer only that I have to limit my exposure to those people because it is just too painful. I understand the DU admin encouraging us to get the word out but the responses you are getting are par for the course. I am sorry that you have to read those responses. Peace, Kim

20. What kind of people do you usually email?
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 03:15 PM by Lone_Star_Dem
I don't surround myself with those who are too blinded by their own stupidity to ever see.

I started sending out the C&L link last night, staying up until the wee hours of the morning to make sure I didn't miss any of my groups. Including my knitting group, those people are a gem!

So far I've not heard negatives but rather surprise that he had the guts to stand up and say what he said. The only shock I'm having is that so many people also felt the media doesn't report the truth for fear of being fired.

My unsolicited advice to you, give up on the lost causes and find some people who are either on the fence or on your side to hang with. :)

Remember: "There are none so blind as those who will not see."

I always thought it was "There are none so blind as those who have no eyes." Huh. Learn something everyday.

22. Well, it's hard to argue with your version. :)
But, this is how I've always heard it, or a similar version. I once read it quoted in a book as, "there are none so blind as those who refuse to see." I like that one, too.
