6. The Republicans ought to start praying this is just a threat...
and not an actual bomb. The Democrats in Congress have been doing everything they possibly can the past few years to get enhanced port security (something that really has little privacy implications) and the Republicans have fought them every time they tried to get the money.

7. Can't let us forget why we've got to be afraid, can they?
It reminds me of the Chancellor Sutler quote from V for Vendetta:

"Mr. Dascombe, what we need is a clear message to the people of the country! This message must resound throughout the ENTIRE INTERLINK! This message should read in every newspaper, heard on every radio, seen on every television. I want this country to realize that we stand on the edge of oblivion! I want every man, woman, and child to understand how close we are to chaos! I WANT EVERYONE to remember WHY THEY NEED US!

9. Ports of LA
Homeland Security has spent next to nothing on security for the Ports of LA. I don't think they'll plant a false terra alert there; it will only highlight HSA's shortcomings.

11. Probably a union worker who is sick to death of the port insecurity.
Wants everyone to know since OSHA only cares about death, disease and destruction and more of it. Whitworth biatch!

16. I might be wrong on this, but I think terrorism counts as a hazard.
Like I said, I might be wrong.

18. I'm sure it fucking does, but there is no insurance against it, so
does that mean it can be ignored by the protections purportedly offered by OSHA?

15. Can they sustain the bullshit until the election?
Last night seemed like a peaking point what with the National Liar on TV interrupting the National Lie (ABC).

I think we're being set up for something bigger. Just a feeling.
Cheney reminded me a lot of Bush* when he said 'Pelosi wouldn't be the next speaker of the House'. Had that fucking shit-eating grin on his face like he knew more than the average fool.

19. I thought Bush's speech was ominous...
... and Cheney's appearance on "Meet the Press" had the same effect.

Cheney seemed especially confident that Republicans would maintain control of Congress.

They both seem to, you know, know something. They had that same look they had right after the Lamont victory, and the next day, the London terror plot story emerged.
