Virginians Rejecting "Macaca?" Allen Trails Webb In Latest Poll
A new Zogby/Wall Street Journal poll has challenger James Webb overtaking incumbent Sen. George Allen in the battle to represent Virginia.

The poll has Webb -- former Navy Secretary in the Reagan Administration but now a Democrat --up 50.4% to 42.9%, a five-point swing from a SurveyUSA poll taken last month. As recently as July, Allen had a double-digit lead, with some polls showing a lead of nearly 20 percentage points.

1. AWESOME! And he just started running the ad...
where Saint Ronny is praising him to the skies for his service to his country.

This could be an epic and incredible David and Goliath type political defeat.

6. Nothing could be more fitting...
Than for Senator Allen to lose his prestigious job (and hopefully his career in politics--beyond dog catcher anyway)--especially for the people's realization of the truth, that George Allen is a racist (in the worst sense of that word--and worse, a hypocrite trying to pretend he's not to the public while exposing the truth in private to related racist organizations; George, you can't have it both ways...)(better you should have nothing, either way).

8. We cannot especially here in VA become complacent
We must remember that the Republicans as I have stated before in posts here have already begun the spin of low expectations.

The House is going to be tight. Re-districting makes it damn tight.

If they keep the Senate they declare victory. If we make gains in both houses but do not gain the house its a mandate. We must work hard to win.

13. the senate isn't out of reach
-- Webb over Allen
-- Whitehouse over Chafee
-- Brown over dewine
-- tester over burns
-- casey over santorum
-- mccaskill over talent
-- ford over casker

Six out of seven, plus hold the NJ seat -- a draw now between Menendez and Kean -- and the Dems get the Senate.

Just saying we cannot start to pat ourselves on the back just yet. Lots of hard work yet to do and fights left to fight.

9. And as Far as Presidential Plans
The "Richmond Times Dispatch" showed the following numbers from respondents in the Mason-Dixon poll for Virginian's presidential prospects:

Mark Warner 9/2005 42% 9/2006 53%
George Allen " 42% " 37%

Senator Macaca is on hiw way out.

A poor showing in his red home-state of Virginia and his presidential ambitions are doomed.
