39% New Gallop

A new Gallup poll finds little change in the public's approval ratings of President George W. Bush and Congress, along with Americans' overall satisfaction with the course of the nation...The poll, conducted Sept. 7-10, finds that 39% of Americans approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president, while 56% disapprove.

1. Gallup is usually much higher than any others

So I would subtract about 6 - 10 points to get the truth.

2. Gallup is overweighted toward pubbies

so we can easily subtract about 5-7% from that number.

The polls to watch are Harris and AP/Ipsos-Reid. They're still honest.

Honesty is the biggie, to be sure. But morality, ethics, (Enron, Halliburton, and more) competency also are problems for them.
