1. I've often said there were only 2 possibilities
to interpret his inaction on 9/11.

First, as Oliphant seems to believe, he is the stupidest human being on the planet and is incapable of acting outside a carefully choreographed script.

Or second, he knew what was coming and had to let it all play out.

Sorry, I'm even more in the second camp than ever. I saw the National Geographic 9/11 special last night. They showed maybe 30 secods of it with a closeup of his face, something I hadn't seen before. He knew. You could see it in his eyes.

And he didn't care.

3. I hear ya
The other possibility, is that he was sitting there remembering what the PDG said, and thinking: "Oh, F---. How am I going to cover this up, that we were warned and I told the CIA briefer: 'All right, you've covered your ass, now go.'"

35. Al Franken recently commented that Bush thought it was going to be easy
after all Clinton was successful with one hand tied behind his back during the whole 8 years and facing a belligerent Republican Congress when Newt said he (Clinton) was irrelevant.

Hey, he could go to bed at sunset, not bother his pretty little head with reading newspapers, jog, chop wood, play host to mommy and Jeb..

So, yes, it was all of a sudden: Holy Shit! What have I got myself into. Can I get out? Get I demand recount of all the Florida ballots?

15. He cared ONLY about how he was going to fake a human response to this
tragedy.
His going to the WTC site 3 days later was the same as any murderer's attending the funeral of his victim.

7. After the first hit he already saw why.
He angered the Taliban and they struck first. Then he went into the classroom and when it happened to the second building he really saw that he angered the Taliban.

He provoked this mess and death.

10. i stand with you on option No. 2.
he knew.
he had to let the planes hit.
he needed to create america's Reichstag Fire.
he wanted a dictatorship.
It was all a master plan.
He had to let it play out.

He has our liberties now.
He has the agency of homeland security (a/k/a as american nkdv).
His personal security is now an entire army that patrols the streets and rooftops whenever he goes anywhere.

He is the most hated son so far of Poppy Poop the Poopard.

18. You know what? The my pet goat moment(s) are what make me doubt...
MIHOP/LIHOP scenarios.

If I knew my evil plan for world domination were to take effect at 10:00 this morning, I'd know exactly what I was going to do, what I was going to say and how to maximize its dramatic effectiveness.

I wouldn't sit there like a buffoon, even if that was my preferred activity.

I agree with Oliphant: Bush is incapable of reacting to new information, it's the primary characteristic of being conservative. He sat there trying to either cognitively deny the new information or to fit it into his world view.

I think the most interesting part of that clip isn't Bush's paralysis, it was the image of Andy Card standing there looking at him - sending him mental messages; "Stand up, you dumbass, you got a job to do!"

Card whispered into his ear, "Sit tight until we tell you otherwise. There's been a slight delay."

What if something went horribly wrong with your plan and you were left to sit there longer than you'd anticipated?

His previously inadequate - now cocaine tarnished - brain couldn't process the information he had been given.

He's thinking being presidint is harder work than Karl said it would be.

I don't think he's smart enough to be brought into the conspiracy loop. He'd blow it. If it is, MIHOP or LIHOP, Chimpy is not in the loop.

2. Of all the footage shown yesterday, I wish one network had replayed
Bush at that school in it's entirety. They would have to mention what Bush knew before he sat down, show him getting word of the second plane, and then let us watch Bush, completely unscripted, stare wide-eyed through the next 20 minutes. I think that would be very enlightening to the public. Anyone know if this footage exists on any of the internets?

about the World Trade Center Bombing.

It was excellent as well.

He is so relaxed and ready for each photo op but doesn't have the need to exit.

What floors me is, what President wouldn't have been pulled out of that class room and that school immediately ~ by the SECRET SERVICE!

5. CNN mentioned it in their timeline yesterday.
Oh, wait, no they didn't. They did talk of Bush going to a prepared photo-op about reading, and how he had just been told of the first attack before entering the classroom. "He then sat and read with the children, and after about twenty minutes, during which time he posed for photos with the class, President Bush addressed the nation." Nothing more probing than that, just "Ho hum, he read a book, had some pics taken, and then lead the nation." No question about why he went into the classroom at all if had already been told of the attacks. No mention of why he stopped for pictures while people were leaping the their deaths in NYC. It is just mind numbing how this man gets a pass on absolutely everything. We're to the point that Matt Lauer -- Matt fucking Lauer -- is being lauded for making Bush get snippy, and Brian Williams is a hero for making Bush look at his shoes while he spoke. This whole thing is fantasy.

Oliphant is brilliant. I've always, always loved his cartoons! He succeeds so well at making Bush look like the hapless fool that he is.
