Front page news Oaxaca, Oaxaca Mexico near anarchy.
Southern Mexico city (Oaxaca) is crippled by protests and attacks. Union strikers are being abused by police in the city of Lazaro Cardenas. 2 killed on April 20 and dozens were wounded. Flower vendor evictions from their stalls in San Salvador Atenco resulted in a weeks worth of riots on May 3. June 14 striking teachers "drive back police" who tried to throw them out of a plaza in Oaxaca. Independence day Sept. 15 should bring more of the same in that Lopez Obrador appears to be making good on his promise to create a shadow government. On Sept. 1 Obrador supporters rushed the podium where Fox was to give the State of the Union address. Fox had to run back to his house (mansion). This is on our doorstep people, on our doorstep in more ways than one!

1. Thank you for this! I'm right next door
in New Mexico, and there's been a news blackout up here. I guess the powers that be are terrified this is going to spread.

I sincerely hope it does.

I don't care who shows us the way to break the power of the rich, as long as we learn the lesson.

I can never think about Mexico without flashing on a Rivera painting, that of an Indio crushed under a burden of calla lilies. That painting says so much more about class than a hundred quasi Marxist lectures could ever do.

Yes, they are.

And with good reason.

They've stolen two.

Let's watch and see if they have the balls to try to keep control of congress.
