MSNBC shitcans Alterman....but the good news is....
P.S., I’m Fired…

First, the bad news: I’m fired. MSNBC.com has decided to end its support of “Altercation,” and indeed, all of its association with yours truly as of this Friday.

Ok, now, the good news: My friends at Media Matters for America have decided that the cause of continuing “Altercation” in its current, politically independent form to be worthy of their support. So we’re not dying, just moving. Our new URL will be www.MediaMatters.org/Altercation and I will also become a MM Senior Fellow.

1. MSNBC SUCKS! Just like ABC, a servile tool of power
Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 06:54 PM by Julius Civitatus
Just like MSNBC fired Donahue when he was making the best ratings for their shitty cable channel. Apparently they seem to have a "no liberal" rule applied all the time.

I fear Olbermann could be next.

Bastards

4. I just don't know how anyone..
.. can watch network and cable news any more.

I don't have cable, and I can never sit through
ABC or CBS news for more than a minute or two.

Most of the time, I can sit through BBC World; and
sometimes I can sit through some stretches of the
Lehrer Report. That's about it.

I'm not gonna get cable just to watch Olbermann
or whoever fits my political philosophy. I already
agree with them, and I can get good info here at
DU and some other sites on the internet.

I think all rightwing tv news stations should be
boycotted. The only thing they care about is money.

Eric Alterman has a blog on MSNBC's website-until Friday anyway....I don't support that station except on weekdays from 8-9 PM

That's what I did after election 2000.

Why do you guys SUPPORT / PAY for Republican propaganda?

So you can be hip on what their latest lies are? F that.

Is it 2008 yet?

2. Good to know you have somewhere to go, but good news?...
I don't think so.

Exposure to your opinions will not be nearly as wide-spread as it was on MSNBC.com. And, instead of playing to conservatives AND liberals on MSNBC.com, you'll be isolated to the liberal audience of Media Matters.

Sorry, but I would rather you speak to the conservatives and perhaps win some hearts and minds.

7. Well, he's keeping better company now that he's no longer
with GE. Fortunately you don't need the patronage of a big corporation to run a blog.

The mainstream media are all a bunch of fascists, and they all do more and more to strip away the facade every day.

9. Thanks for the info.

I've given up on cable and broadcast news. It's now D.O.A. I have a new goal: being as informed as I can be and that means watching only Free Speech TV, Link TV, and reading respectable blogs like Common Dreams, Media Matters, et al.

The Path to 9/11 was my last straw. One can't have Eric's insight or the insights of Amy Goodman, Randi, or Thom Hartmann and continue to watch TV.
