BRAD PITT- We Won't Wed Until Law Allows Everyone to Wed?
I was watching E! and they showed Brad Pitt... and I could have sworn that whatshisname (the host) said that Brad Pitt has said that he and Angelina won't wed until "the law allows everyone to wed."

Did I hear that right? That's pretty awesome if I did....

3. Well, that'll show people!
Seriously, it's commendable and all, but does he really think that the fundies are going to be intimidated by this threat?

4. I doubt he thinks about it as a threat, more as setting an example.

10. Ha! That's exactly what I was thinking!
I can just see the vigils now... people standing around praying that the laws get changed so that Brad Pitt can marry the woman that he f*$%ed around on his first wife with.

13. "it's commendable". Damn Right It Is.
"does he really think that the fundies are going to be intimidated by this threat?"

Of course he doesn't. However, they are choosing to stand on principle anyway.

"it's commendable"

Damn right it is.

5. So they are going to deny us their marriage?

Are they moving to whatever country is hip this month if we don't vote the way they want us to vote.

6. The guy should be applauded.
He's trying to make a point, squarely aimed at those who wish to deny gay couples a legal marriage.

9. I tell you something
Brad Pitt and Angelina represent the most decent and conscious of the young stars today. His work in NOLA is impressive. He got a lot of bad rap for his break up with that vacant empty Jennifer, but her superficiality must have been too much to bear. I have loads of respect for both of them.

11. Diss him all you want. I'm just glad for another liberal
voice when we have the "vast rightwing conspiracy" (yes, Hillary, you nailed that years ago) buying up our media.
We have ABC joining the Swiftboaters. And Scaife and Co. mass buying rightwing books which nobody actually reads -- just to make it appear that these authors have credibility.
And then you can't turn on the TV without seeing Coulter - a manufactured "best selling" author.
Or how about manufactured Jeff Gannon? Fake name. Fake credentials. But sold to us as a "distinguished journalist" with WH press credentials.
OR the faked infomercials mass mailed to TV stations touting the success of Bushian policy. Only they were fake. Propaganda read by actors -- and presented as fact. Paid for with out tax dollars.
Also, the paid columnists...again syndicated writers touting Bushian success, without revealing they were on the payroll.
So. Go ahead, Brad. You have a public forum because you're a movie star. Go ahead and speak out.
We need liberal voices. And he has every right as a citizen to speak his mind.

12. So? Most celebrities trade spouses like the rest of us trade clothing
I can understand wanting to take a stand...but for a guy who just divorced his 1st wife, this strikes me as a silly statement.

17. Sorry
but since she has two marriages under her young (31) belt and he has one - and they supposedly had an affair that ended his marriage to Aniston - their views towards marriage won't be taken too seriously - I agree with their sentiments - but most Holywood types are not exactly poster children for marriage.
