"After all, religion drove those planes into those buildings..."
For those lying down and avoiding that POS on ABC, Frontline is having Faith and Doubt at Ground Zero, a look at religion and how the religious dealt with the tragedy. The above quote is from a rabbi. A firefighter's widow says she feels abandoned by God. Should be interesting viewing.

On PBS tonight.

2. That entire idea was absolutely insane.
Like, God couldn't hold up two buildings indefinitely? I think I wanna worship the God who CAN.

5. It'd be a sure fire way to win some converts!
And the heretics beg to be heard,
But the Saviour's on tour for the week.
Salvation is found in his Word,
If only He'd learn how to speak . . .

3. Specious thinking by the rabbi
Just because someone cloaks their terrorism in the garb of religion (or nationalism or anything else but terrorism) doesn't make it "religious" any more than wearing a cow costume and walking into a barn makes a person a cow. Otherwise, a very similar argument, which I suspect the rabbi would find very discomforting, could be made about what drove Israeli missiles into residential areas of Lebanon, killing a whole bunch of luckless civilians who never threatened Israel or did it any harm.
