Bill would name courthouse after Rush Limbaugh Sr.
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - A new federal courthouse would bear one of the most famous names in southeast Missouri -- and the nation -- under legislation offered by Sens. Kit Bond and Jim Talent.

Decades before his namesake grandson achieved prominence as a conservative commentator, Rush H. Limbaugh was practicing law and amassing a long record of civic service to Cape Girardeau and the state. He died in 1996 at age 104, after practicing law for nearly 80 years.

He was widely called Rush H. Limbaugh Sr., to distinguish him from his son -- the late Rush H. Limbaugh Jr., who shared the law practice -- and his grandson Rush H. Limbaugh III, the radio host.

This month, Bond and Talent introduced a Senate bill designating Cape Girardeau's new courthouse as the Rush H. Limbaugh Sr. Federal Courthouse. The $50 million building is expected to open next year.

Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Mo., said discussions about a name began about the same time construction started in 2004, and Limbaugh was the most fitting symbol of both the legal profession and dedication to community service.

4. Limbaugh
If the elder Limbaugh was so good at public service, what happened to the grandson. I guess there happens to be one deficient in every family and the current rush - the oxymoron viagra kid happens to be it.

7. That's the only explanation that makes sense. Maybe the DNA mutated
somehow during Rush's formitive years, which caused him to have blood flow problems to his brain...

...Among other areas.

6. I propose that cape girardeau name the men's room at the city park
the jeff christy watering hole.

Obviously rush sr's DNA is warped, but don't tell a desperate talent that fact.

9. I would hope someday
that the good work I do in 80 years of law practice is not overshadowed by the sins of my grandson.

I say the man deserves the honor. Not his fault he shares a name with an idiot.

12. As Far As I Know...
Rush Limbaugh Sr was a decent man, so I have no problem with honoring him in this way.
