Bush Administration Has Long History Of Propaganda Within U.S.
All Americans -- right and left -- should be appalled that the Bush Administration keeps getting caught paying journalists to shill for its programs.

Click {a href="http://jabbs.blogspot.com/2006/09/more-paid-propagandists-when-will-bush.html"]here to read about what the administration has done, and Bush's three opinions on the subject in 2005 -- he flip-flops, and then flip-flops again.

<snip>

The merits of what the administration is advocating aren't at issue. Most Americans want to see an end to Castro's regime, and certainly a large percentage of Americans at one supported Bush's "No Child Left Behind" program -- long before the administration hired a public relations firm, Ketchum Inc., which in turn subcontracted conservative pundit Armstrong Williams so that he would tout the program.

What is at issue is the administration's decision, again and again, to turn to propaganda -- the sort of decision that Americans of all political stripes have criticized in places like North Korea, China and the former Soviet Union.

1. Agreed. Why there isn't more outrage about this is beyond me...
At least the U.S.S.R. was brave enough to just create its own propaganda agency, and not pay allegedly "independent" journalists.

2. Just saw some type of ad from "People for the American Way"
or some such group that was saying if we don't vote Republican we are all doomed. The propaganda being shown this weekend is unprecedented in American history.

I'm pretty sure that's a progressive organization. Check out their website: http://www.pfaw.org/pfaw/general/

4. Then it was some other group, I will have to wait and see it again.
Like I just posted on another thread I was so floored I guess I didn't get the name of the group right. It was just blatant fear mongering and propaganda like I have never seen before. It definitely was not a liberal ad. At one point it said something like those who would have us cut and run will cause our country to be destroyed.

I will keep an eye out for it but I saw it on Fox. Yes, I do monitor the enemy.

8. Now can you see why I was so stunned after I first saw it.
I have never seen anything in my life on American TV like that, talk about Stalinist. We have definitely gone down the rabbit hole.

5. Also, this just a few days ago:At least 10 Miami journalists take U.S. pay

At least 10 Miami journalists take U.S. pay
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/15465622.htm
At least 10 South Florida journalists, including three from El Nuevo Herald, received regular payments from the U.S. government for programs on Radio Martí and TV Martí, two broadcasters aimed at undermining the communist government of Fidel Castro. The payments totaled thousands of dollars over several years.

Not only do these "journalists" have programs on Radio Martí and TV Martí, but they also have columns and shows in US papers and on radio & TV expressing the same paid-for propaganda in the US.
