Heard this story this morning on NPR and found a link that outlines the expected upgrades to planes within a couple years. I really can't believe all of this, especially the closed circuit cameras in the passenger section that can transmit the signal back to the ground . . . It seems that flying now includes a complete waiving of rights of free speech and privacy. I can't help but think that the push to remove rights in some broad-based system that many people use (such as public air travel) is just a test for a broader application as soon as these policies are simply accepted. I wish I knew how to fight this, but I don't think that it really matters who is holding public office anymore. You are going to get this horse crap coming down the pike whether democrats or republicans are in office now, imo. A politician is just that, most are corrupt to some extent (on both sides of the fence, I am sorry to say), and all of them will do anything to cover their collective asses, including removing your privacy to show themselves as proactive against 'terror.'
