The good news
Edited on Sun Sep-10-06 10:20 PM by LuckyTheDog
While "The Path to 9/11" was every bit as much a partisan hack job as I expected... it also was so darned hard to follow that its impact likely will be muted. The camera work and soundtrack were enough to cause motion sickness and a headache.

Plus, it was on opposite of the NFL.

On edit: Plus, it was refreshing to see Harvey Keitel in a film and not have to look at his penis.

3. A sleeper? WTF are you talking about it?
It's been a close game and now the Giants are moving fast down the field to get a TD to win the game. 17 secs left!

8. Watched "Koppel On Discovery" Instead - Security vs. Liberty post-9/11
The discussion afterwards wasn't terribly enlightening - Tom Ridge must have been threatened with the safety of his loved ones by Deadeye Dick - he was very muted, eyes kept shifting around. McNulty (DOJ) gave a dispirited & ineffectual defence of wiretapping - I could have defended Bush better. George Soros wasn't much good, either, started out to make the point that we're breeding terrorists in Iraq & then just sort of petered out. Only really interesting (other than the 9/11 Families - Repukes shouldn't count on their votes in Nov.) speaker was Col. Wilkerson (prof at William and Mary) who unfortunately was too professiorial & Koppel cut him off before he finished making his point: that restrictions on liberty in time of war (historically) have never ended up making us any more secure (example I think he was getting ready to make: Soviet Union had 10,000 spies at one time or another in the U.S. - all the McCarthy-era wiretapping & black bag tactics caught a handful of them - after they had stolen every secret we had.)
Ah, well, girding myself for answering my idiot sister's inevitable questions from "Path to 9/11" as I explain to her what really happened.
