Ted Koppel got ONE e-mail during his live 9/11 show.
Edited on Sun Sep-10-06 10:03 PM by Atman
Did I see that right? No, I didn't watch it, either. Obviously, about twelve Americans did. I watched Syrianna on On Demand instead of any of the 9/11 hype. I'm glad I did...it seemed much more relevent that all the crap that has been on teevee tonight. The viewers must have agreed if poor Ted couldn't even get more than one foo' to bother to e-mail him (or did I miss the other e-mails that flooded in after Ted lamented that he'd only received one?).

2. They only read one email.
They read another one at the end of the show. I don't think they had time to read them all.

3. When they went to that segment, Ted said "We've only received one e-mail"
"...so far, so we'll read it." or something like. It was so close to the end, I didn't figure they got any others in, but I admit, I missed the last couple of minutes.

Subject: How likely was it that my Government invaded my privacy in the Spring
Date: September 10, 2006 10:54:31 PM EDT
To: koppeltownmeeting@discovery.com

by data mining my on-line Roth IRA account? In the Spring of 2006 I received a call from a large US online broker, where I have my Roth IRA, saying that my account had been breached by a "Foreign" IP address. When I pressed them where it originated from, the security desk said Great Britain. At the time I did not think much of it. I am an elected official in my town, an active liberal democrat and I coach Little League, but then I saw Att. General Alberto Gonzales testify in front of the Senate and say that he could not rule out that such electronic surveillance (paraphrasing his answer to the senior senator from PA Arlen Spector) was occurring. I wonder now was my privacy invaded because I was giving money to a challenger to Sen. Lieberman or maybe just because I was a vocal democrat? How can someone be able to just break in to one of the largest on line brokers if not having the backing of the likes of the CIA or NSA??? Then I think, wow I'm a nutty conspiracy theorist..... But that is what you get when you can not trust your government!!

6. Welcome to the Nutty Conspiracy Club, Dr. Fred
Really, it all makes total sense when you view the GOP not so much as a political party, but rather in terms of an Organized Crime/Syndicate model.

5. I watched that show and it was excellent.
Ted took no prisoners...he's pissed at this administration and it shows.

The pro-torture, pro-wiretapping folks got their asses handed to them. And I felt a little twinge of faith in the American public again...they are not rolling over and taking this crap very lightly.
