3. Well, it was just a quick scene of DeNiro outside a firehouse
and mentioning memorials to the firefighters.

Then there has been new footage of interviews and such in more recent months...after effects of the survivors' lives.

5. CBS deserves to be commended for their show this evening.
Something that ABC does not deserve.

6. This is excellent ...

Gives me a new thought on the whole Path ... crap thing. Starts to seem like a contrived ratings war. ABC knew it had garbage and knew it couldn't compete with the excellent piece of work on CBS, so they had to do *something* to get viewers.

I'd seen the original of this and am glad I watched the revised version. I'm just sad it doesn't seem to have received its own watch thread. It was much more deserving.

7. Well now I am just bawling.
What a lovely but very sad ending.

I did not expect to be so touched.

8. Intended to watch football; got hooked on this documentary. Excellent

I was so impressed with the quality of this documentary from the French brothers who were intending to shoot the story of a probationary fireman.
Instead, they wound up with the only footage of the plane hitting Tower 1 and the only footage from inside the lobby of Tower 1 and the rescue effort.

Very powerful documentary. Beautifully done. Kudos to CBS for showing this--without commercial interruption.

PS-on edit. Disney/ABC: the truth is powerful and without equal.

9. Great ending
Superior documentary showing the rawness and horror of what happened, as well as the emotional tolls on the firefighters and the different paths their lives have taken. Mention of the toxic dust they inhaled, how they were told it was okay to be down near the WTC site and health problems since.

The filmmaker brothers did an excellent job of capturing the truth.

10. I will write to CBS tomorrow and thank them for their 9/11 show that
aired tonight.

I will also be writing to the FCC tomorrow to complain about ABC and my local ABC affiliate. I cannot tell what is true and what is made up from watching the POS ABC is airing. I want to know why they can advertise it as "OFFICIAL TRUE STORY" when it is partially fiction.

This is deceptive advertising.

I hope someone files a suit and an injunction first thing tomorrow morning, and a Judge pulls the plug on ABC showing part two of this crap.

12. Excellent documentary filmed in real time of 9/11....
Edited on Sun Sep-10-06 10:30 PM by Historic NY
its about "the guys" from Ladder 1 & Engine 7, filmed by 2 French brothers. I've seen it before the update brought it up to the current on the lives of some of the men who survived that day. A common theme was many are still suffering emotionally as this was one of the houses where all there men made it out. They live with survivor guilt but many just chaulk it up to being a miracle.

13. I've watched this on DVD and think I may even have it on tape somewhere.
But it's not being shown in San Diego. I really would have loved to watch it again.

18. Was the rest of it the same...I already had seen the original...
and we are watching the Canadian documentary, but if the CBS one has been changed, we'll switch to that. I'd like to see their updated ending, too. It was so strikingly heartwrenching & all too real, excellent documentary!

20. I chose to watch the CBS documentary
full of sorrow, yet full of love - one human being to another, instead of the hate-filled pack of lies that ABC decided to air.

This was the 1st time I've watched any 9/11 related film. It appears I chose the appropriate one.

Yes, kudos to CBS.
