Kerry Cheated Dean? You can find the damnedest things online.
I came across this site while tracking down stuff about Kay Griggs.

http://www.hugequestions.com/American_Voters.html

Did John Kerry
win the 2004 election?

Or are the Republicans better at cheating?

Thousands of angry Democrats are posting evidence on the Internet that John Kerry won the 2004 presidential election, and that the Republicans altered the votes. These Democrats show that if the votes had been counted correctly, John Kerry would be the next US president.

Unfortunately, accurately counting the votes would not necessarily give the presidency to John Kerry. The reason is that if we were to accurately count the votes in the Iowa caucus we might find that Howard Dean beat John Kerry by an enormous margin.

All of the polls prior to the Iowa caucus showed Howard Dean far ahead of all other Democratic candidates. When John Kerry beat Howard Dean, the Democrats assumed that most of Dean supporters decided to switch to Kerry at the last moment, and for reasons nobody has been able to explain.

However, Kerry may have won because some group cheated. In which case, he cannot complain that Bush cheated him in the presidential election.

4. Well--I believe that, but I dunno about actual vote theft, which
is pretty much what's alleged here.
I do think the Dem PTB were desperately afraid to run Dean, for whatever reason. Fear he wouldn't win, or fear he would.

3. Actually, this seems plausible, but it was all Rove's doing
I think Rove was scarred sh^tless by Dean. It's entirely possible that he used his same vote-manipulating methods to boost a candidate that he felt he could beat.

6. Iowa was a caucus
Someone from every caucus knew the vote for their own caucus. If there were any cheating, it would have been noticed. Sheesh. Why does this keep going on and on, I do not understand this obsession.

7. No machines in the Iowa caucuses. Sorry for your conspiracy theory.
BTW, in the week before the caucuses, Kerry was ahead in the polls.

8. Not to mention at least tthe poll I saw
used a smoothed average - where several days' polling were aggregated with the most recent one getting the highest weight. This technique does tone down outliers but it makes it harder to see changes as easily. Kerry moved steadily upward.

Conspiracy theories not withstanding, it is far more likely that what people saw on their TVs in the last 2 weeks had a major impact. In one day, these stories played together.

- Kerry was reunited with Rassman, the marine whose life he saved. Rassman, a life long Republican who had worked as a policeman. The footage was "made for tv". Kerry was very emotional and when Rassman praised him and said to the crowd that "this man saved my life", Kerry almost shyly said that "anyone would have done it."

- Dean, angered ay a seventy-some year old heckler, looked angry and red faced. pointed a finger at him and told him to "sit down".

These were not average moment for the two candidates, but they were played all that day on the cable stations - I assume they made the Iowa news too. This was REAL - and if you were not 100% committed and were between these two men - these views likely swung voters - and they should both showed something real about the candidates' temperments or character.
