OK, I'm betting that gasoline prices will be around 1.50 by the end of Oct
and will rise to $3.00 after the November elections and maybe as high as $3.50 by Christmas 2006.

The fix is in and the Republican conservative corporate neocon cabal is controlling prices to help Republicans.

6. Just wait. Someone will come along and scold you for this
even some DUers are naive enough to think that this might have anything to do with supply and demand.

You wouldn't believe how easy it is, on a liberal website, to get lectured on economics by someone with a RW view...

7. I pretty much agree that prices are being manipulated by the GOP.
I expect prices to keep falling gradually until late October and, as an added incentive, at key fueling stops in battleground districts, Republicans will come out to your car to offer you a handjob.

I think a free Coke or something is part of the package as well. And a bag of chips.

Republicans are REALLY afraid of losing the U.S. House.

9. Even if it's just an election ploy,
I've got to say, I'm feeling the relief.

If it lasts a week past the election, I'll have to upgrade (just slightly) my opinion of Bush. Don't expect that to happen, though.

10. The fact that diesel and Non-regular blends are beyond....
proportionally higher should help prove that they are being manipulated.

12. How? You think Exxon and Co. will risk selling low for two months
and then jack up the price and THEN have Dems take over one house of Congress only to ask "Hold on boys, you could afford to sell for $1.50 for 2 months and now you want $3.00 a gallon again? How about we start investigating? And in the meantime, we freeze it back down to October prices."

It would be very risky for oil company profits to do that.

14. Still over $2.70 in midtown in central NM
I sincerely doubt we'll see prices under $2.50 here.

We went to paper ballots. They know they can't cheat a win here this time.

15. Where I live in Wisconsin it is $2.54, down 15 cents this week.
Surprisingly, or not, diesel is $3.04 a gallon. Earlier in the week when gas was at $2.69 diesel was at $3.04, so it didn't drop and was 40 cents more a gallon than gas and now it is 50 cents more.

17. Yeah, I may have read that here.
If there is more than a 40 cent difference between regular and diesel, then it is an indication of price fixing one way or another.

19. Parts of Virginia had regular gas for under $ 2.20
I have a buddy who lives out down 66, must be a difference in tax they pay. I paid 2.49 here in Maryland.

20. Someone should do a comparison of......
price differential vs polling of Dems in competative races with Pukes. Seems like they are trying hard to get out the Fundies en mass. Virginia is one to keep an eye on. Pennsyvania is another.

22. I mentioned this in a post yesterday
because it seems the price is not dropping every where - for example I'm in Central FL - very red part of FL - price never went over 3 bucks - then got to 2.79 for a while and now is at 2.65 which compared to some of the drops I'm hearing about isn't that much. BUT there really aren't too many competitive races here - so I'm wondering what is the correlation between competitive races and the drop in gas prices....and think it would be a lovely thing for Keith Olberman to report on....

Prices aren't going down too much in Oregon - but we don't have a national election this year either. Hmmm.

26. hmmm ... and the Big 3 is choking on its inventory of "large" vehicles
Dealer overflow lots are doing exactly that.

Could $2.00 gas clear 'em out?
