George Will, Gop politicos & pundits, THE TRUTH & "The Path To 9/11"

Re: Fahrenheit 911 & truth. When do you denounce Limbaugh, Swift Boat Liars etc? (About Todays "This Week" with George Stephanopolous)

On edit: George Will said on This Week that Democrats could be as angry as they wanted to about "The Path To 9/11", but until they denounce Michael Moore and Fahrenheit 911 etc they have no right to talk. So I sent him most of what is in this post by email to: georgewill@washpost.com Feel free to add your own email to his inbox

Dear Mr. Will and other GOP and CONservative politicians and pundits,

Republicans can also be as angry as they want to about Fahrenheit 911, which has been found to be very substantially true to fact in nearly all material and substantive areas.

You've got to start differentiating something that is negative about someone or some issue based on the truth FROM something that is negative about someone or some issue based on nothing but a pack of lies.

"The Path To 9/11" apparently falls into the latter category. As does most of what Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and the "Swift Boat Veterans" (liars) say.

The GOP politicians as well as the "pundits" all sound like a tape recording of one another repeating the exact same talking points. Very often these too are not in accord with the truth.

Then there are those of us who live in the "reality based community," what a concept! Try it, you might even like it!

What I'm waiting for, but definitely not holding my breath waiting for, is you and other GOP and conservative politicians and pundits to DENOUNCE ALL the liars that have been working so hard for so long to distort, mangle, and ignore the truth in favor of trying to score political points.

Until such time, I can't possibly take you seriously when you protest the supposed inaccuracy of anything.

confuse and confabulate: "someone's upset" = "someone's upset." The truth as you point out is that "someone's upset over a lie" does NOT equate to "someone's upset over the truth." The RWers are trying to make it an emotive issue, when it's a truth issue.

5. Thanks! Yes, and nobody pointed that out on the air!
On the ROUNDTABLE today: ABC News's George Will, Newsweek's Fareed Zakaria, ABC News White House Correspondent Martha Raddatz, and The Nation's Katrina vanden Heuvel

Our side is getting a lot better at responding, but this is one of the standard deceptions by the right wing, and nobody spoke up.

The other part of it is they like to respond to any accusation of inaccuracy by saying you guys have no right to talk until you denounce this, that or the other. In this case F911.

The often effective counter to them when they try that is to ask THEM to denounce some of the myriad ACTUAL inveterate liars on their side.

They have no answer, just like in real life and discourse.

All talk, deceit, lies.

3. I saw F/911 and I didn't see any lies or mis-truths. Granted I haven't
seen path to 911 but all the controversy tells me this picture is fraught with lies and mis-truths. so george will could suck the farts out of bush's ass for all I care..

6. Oh, they have web sites that purport to show dozens of errors of
fact in Fahrenheit 911.

I skimmed one and mostly they were trivial points, even if they were truly in error. Like some speech took place at a different rally than it was shown in the movie. I won't waste time trying to find out if that was true or not.

However the site I looked at also said it had been documented that Dub would have won any recount in Florida. Prolly got that from the supposedly objective Judicial Watch who make the same bogus claim. JW was also the group that claimed that some video released not too long ago, supposedly of the plane hitting the Pentagon on Sept 11, dispelled the "conspiracy theories." That claim was made before the video had even been released. Yea, that's objective. :sarcasm:

I believe F911's already been documented as a good, clever, award-winning, reality-based film.

Aug 6 PDB, the one titled "Bin Laden determined to strike in US"

According to the web site, there is no evidence Dub didn't read it.

And that it didn't say Bin Laden was going to crash planes into the WTC.

This is the kind "quality" reporting on that web site. :sarcasm:
