Stealth bomber just flew over my apartment building
One of these things:

On its way to Foxboro for the Patriots opening game. It must almost be time for the annual Sports-War-Mixed-Metaphor extravaganza at Gillette Stadium.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like...a touchdown?

1. Keep your head down. I think it's looking for you.
Actually, I don't expect Bush to start bombing American cities until sometime between November 2, 2008 and January 20, 2009.

12. Thank you
I think we need to start assigning the proper names to all overpriced Pentagon war toys.

3. I'll be at FedEx Field tomorrow night
for the Skins-Vikings games. The Danny always springs for a flyover. Don't it make you proud to be a Murkin?

5. They fly a lot of those out of Hollomon AFB in New Mexico
and I've seen them a few times flying over the nearby mountains, where my parents live. Very creepy planes, but fascinating to watch. They look like giant bats.

6. I heard it
but I didn't get to the window in time to see it. I knew it was something like that. A few years ago (I think it was opening night of the World Series), I looked out my window just in time to see a couple of fighter jets fly over Fenway Park. They continued south towards my building and then shot straight up. They made so much noise, it scared the bejeezus out of me! I'm glad I saw them coming.

9. Boy it's nice to know I'm paying
for an airshow at a football game.

Well, it's always good to trot out the cutting-edge military hardware for a nice public display:

my mom lives in Phoenix. She said one flew over her house before a football game.
She said the entire sky got dark.

every year. A bomber (and two stealth fighters flanking it) fly really low, right down the middle of Colorado Boulevard. The creepiest thing about them is that you don't hear them until they are almost on top of you (at which point everything around you begins to bounce from the sound-vibrations.)

I've always thought that this was a very odd, even untoward, way to mark the beginning of what is otherwise a joyous New Year's Day celebration, not to mention the beginning of l'annee nouveau, but the crowd always seems to go wild with cheering and applause for these abominations.

On edit: Punctuation.

18. We had a flyover last year in Chapel Hill, with several practice runs
We were there. The pilots landed in Raleigh, I think, and then were helicoptered back to the stadium to see the last half of the game.
Several practice runs occured on the Thursday before the game. We live close enough to the stadium that we saw/heard the practices. It was impressive, but appropriate? Tab to the taxpayer?

F-15 Flyover Before Saturday’s Game.
Four F-15C Eagle jets will cruise Kenan.
Oct. 18, 2005

Fans attending Saturday’s home football game against Virginia will want to make sure to be in their seats with their eyes turned to the sky before kickoff. As part of the pregame festitivies, a group of F-15 C Eagle fighter jets will do a flyover of Kenan Stadium. The lead jet will be piloted by Maj. Brent “Wrench” Allen, a 1994 Carolina graduate.
