Mel Gibson and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Why the double standard?
Mel Gibson says a bunch of racist shit about the jews. He's rightfully lambasted for his idiotic comments, the furor lasted weeks, and many people in hollywood say they'll never work with him again.

Arnold Schwarzenegger says a bunch of racist shit about latinos and african americans, and I hear NOTHING about it beyond he apologized. Where is the outrage? This fucker isn't just some actor, he's also the republican governor of the largest blue state in America.

So why isn't he being slammed in public like Gibson was?

Is this where we are as a nation?

1. Schwarzeneggers vocab also includes "fags"
For some reason he gets a pass. "If I hurt mein children saying dis vords I vould be outraged" says he and that's supposed to be the end of it.

2. Arnold used a stereotype, but a flattering one?

I mean isn't there a difference between:

"_______ are hot."

... and...

"_______ are responsible for all the wars in the world."

Mel Gibson might have gotten a little publicity if he said "Jews are hot." A little controversy. But nothing like what really happened.

5. I thought he meant hot as "quick to anger"
Not hot as in "sexually alluring". But I think it is being framed in the latter way, to soften the impact for A.S.

4. what i've heard...
is that the latina legislator that this remark was aimed at approved of what he said. maybe that's whay he felt that he could open his big mouth and say what he did. this is sexual harrasment to many women. if she'd put up a fuss, we'd probably have never heard it.
