Lets mess with Disney
How about a good old fashioned Mickey Burning,(book burning)
We could get it organized pretty quickly, it would make a statement.
Take anything disney down to your Local ABC station, the more obvious,
the better. You would want to contact your other Local stations because ABC
would not film it.
Suggestion, Would it be better to do it now or wait until after airing,
so we can have an informed opinion, as opposed to the knee jerk methods
used by the right/

1. No matter how much I disagreed with its contents, I could never
participate in a book burning.

2. No no no no no.
No book burning nor anything burning.

Donate the stuff to a library or to Goodwill if you don't want it around.

Don't give them material for "Libruls hate Mickey Mouse!"

8. If you had read the post
I said no book burning, all I hear on here is write, phone
Why don't you people do something that is in there face.
What we are facing, 9/11 is about our country, and what has been taken from us.
Symbolically vent our anger against corporate manipulation.
Fighting a corporate entity, is the exact opposite of Fascism.

you did not advocate burning books, just anything short of them?

We in america are facing our own emergence of fascism and dealing with it has many of the same problems germany had.

1st, it is an unknown concept to the majority of our sheeople.

2nd, too aggressive approach will only allow the state owned media to marginalize us further.

3rd, nascar daddy will give up his offspring if central government says so.

4th, america can no longer support the spending of the central gov. that means someone else will have to.

I could go on but you get the picture.

I myself, and 99% of americans, given the truth, would move heaven and earth for peace.

media, media, media.

our uber-rich will flee to brazil , just as your's did, and leave us to carry on.

7. Can we demonstrate outside their stores?
I kinda have a grudge against a local Disney store. They treated one of my breast cancer patients really badly when she worked there.

But when it comes to politics, war, and this poor excuse of a miniseries, no it won't work. It seems my faith in protests are all but gone for me. Reasons are, first it always goes on deaf ears. They won't listen to us like they use to. Second, not much attention,no matter how big or how small, our protests will never get front page news. We always go to page six, if we are lucky.

But if you wanna burn Disney books, that is fine. I have been to a protest that had a HUGE Toby Keith CD burning (that Red Whith Blue song). So I don't think it is as Nazi-ish as it sounds. If book burning offends you, then bring in Disney DVDs and videos.

16. Uh, Nazis were into book burning. I am not.
It doesn't make any sense anyway. If you already own the books, Disney has already made their money off them.

Far better to just not buy Disney products in the future.

When so-called "liberals" start calling for book burning, that's when I refuse to call myself a liberal.

20. Attacking the symbols of a company
is not the same as burning books. To hold a demonstration to show displeasure with someone's actions in a graphic way can be effective. Burning bras and draft cards were iconic gestures of the 60s, why couldn't burning Mickey ears symbolize the refusal to accept Corporate Media propaganda. Not asking anyone to destroy anything more valuable than a bit of kitsch and have never thought anyone should strip the schools or libraries (like RW zealots are wont to do).

Guess someone else lost this argument when the N word came out.

21. What do the other networks have on vs. ABC those nights ?
I'm sure Three Days Of The Condor would make a great diversion. Redford/Robertson dialogue at the end of the flick match the Nixon era plans to seize Saudi oil fields. The current administration just dusted off the old '73 plans and substituted "Iraq" for Saudi Arabia !

23. Corrupt their brand by linking them to * and the Republics...
did you see my thread yesterday?

Make their name synonymous with this administration and its crimes. Disney is all about brand. Take the shine off of their brand.
