The closet-common denominator between producer of PT911 & Ken Melman?

'Path to 9/11' producer is "ex-gay"

In the AP story circulating late Friday night, it quotes the producer of ABC's unconscionably biased "Path to 9/11" as Marc Platt.

A little bit of history. Platt is also the producer of the huge succcessful Broadway musical "Wicked," which turns "The Wizard of Oz" on its head. He is fabulously rich because he turned every gay man's favorite movie (i'm gay, i know of what i speak) into every little girl's favorite Broadway show.

Now, you ask, what is the point?

When I was working as a journalist in Hollywood, when Marc Platt was named the head of the now-defucnt Orion Pictures, all of my friends in the industry, who were agents and entertainment attorneys knew Marc Platt when he was a well known out gay man in New York City. Then, when he moved to Hollywood he went into the closet and got married. So, he is what one might call an "ex-gay" (if there is such a thing) and we all know how f---ed up "ex-gays" have to be to buy into that. My point and I do have one is that here is a guy who turned his back on his own natural way of living to want to have it all by getting the Hollywood trophy wife to "blend in" and get filty rich peddling the pabulum that is "Wicked" to 12-year-old girls. Isn't it just like someone who is self-loathing to turn his back on his gay life and boyfriend, go back into the closet, get married and now espouse conservative views and need to vilify those who would have worked to grant gays and lesbians the right to marry? Of course, Platt, now married, only believes that heterosexuals are allowed to marry as does the Bush Administration and the G.O.P. to whom this "Path to 9/11" docudrama panders to.

I think not only do we need to boycott Disney/ABC, but also all productions of "Wicked" -- both on Broadway, Chicago and others touring the United States. We need to hurt this guy where he lives -- in his pocketbook.
