Bush plans television prime time address on fifth anniversary of Sept. 11
Bush plans television prime time address on fifth anniversary of Sept. 11 attacks

(AP) - WASHINGTON-President George W. Bush will make a prime-time address from the White House's Oval Office on Monday to mark the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

White House press secretary Tony Snow said the administration had requested network time for the address at 9:01 p.m. EDT (0101 GMT Tuesday). The address is expected to run 16 to 18 minutes, he said.

The speech will come after Bush visits each of the attack sites, in New York, Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and the Defense Department, where terrorist hijackers used commercial airliners as weapons to kill nearly 3,000 people.

Snow said Bush's address would not be a political speech or a charge to Congress for action. Rather, he said, it would be reflective of what Sept. 11 has meant and "how we move ahead as a country in making use of the lessons of Sept. 11."

"It will have a note of optimism as well as sobriety about what we've been through," Snow said.

5. bush is a thick, putrid scab covering all the problems he has created and
mismanaged.

The Katrina anniversary allowed the nation to review what happened and partially pick the scab off.

His obscene performances on Monday will rip it cleanly away and the nation can bleed freely. Healthy healing of this nation will begin with voting republicans out in November.

7. Does anybody ever actually watch those things?
I would imagine that a rerun of a PBS documentary on paint drying would outdraw the Smirk.

8. he needs to keep the wound open and bleeding.
he will not let the country heal.

should he let the country heal, he would have no presidency; his idiocy would be subject to ridicule even by his most ardent followers. they would come to know that the man is a sack of gas, lies and manipulation.

he, like a mother who suffers from munchhousen syndrome, wants the country to be sick so that he can proclaim himself its protector, its benefacor, its giant boob.

he is a sick man. he cannot risk letting the nation heal. the nation would come to see how sick he is.
