The Reich Wing used Cinton's Oval Office dalliance not only as a way to attack the President, but the Presidency itself.

The hysteria over Monica Lewinsky was completely out of all proportion to reality, up to and including the actual trial in the Senate Chambers, with all the pomp and circumstance, lowering the bar, recorded for all time, of Something That Was Actually Important Enough To Merit An Impeachment.

Just for grins, Chief Justice Rehnquist slapped some phat yellow racing stripes on his robes. They show up nicely on the overhead video shot as he prances down the aisle to officiate over the pretend proceedings.

And it worked. Not only was Clinton discredited, but the office of the Presidency was diminished and trivialized, paving the way for another GOP television Teflon President, who flubs his lines even more than the original.

Not only was Clinton discredited and the Presidency trivialized, the power and value of the process of impeachment was trashed as well. Under this administration, with no checks and balances, with a Democratic leadership that finally finds its spine over a TV show, all of the deadly, devastating high crimes and misdemeanors of this pResident are not even investigated. No hearings. No truth. No justice.

IMHO the VRWC cheapened the Oval Office (and claimed Clinton did) with their bogus impeachment, disemboweled the impeachment process and predisposed Americans to have lowered expectations of The President-- paving the way for Dim Son.

But I already said that. And the notion gets maybe 2 responses (of major quality, no doubt) while another "Let's go in circles salivating over blow jobs and asking Why Why Why?!!" thread attracts replies like fleas.....................

I read Nance Greggs RAVE to DU on Friday, and thought, gee wish I had the same settings she does..............

The San Francisco Mime Troupe creates and produces socially relevant theater of the highest professional quality. Founded in 1959 by R.G. Davis, the company became the San Francisco Mime Troupe in 1961.
