NORFOLK -- First lady Laura Bush raised roughly $150,000 at a breakfast fund-raiser this morning for U.S. Rep. Thelma Drake.

Roughly 350 people paid between $150 and $5,000 for a meal of eggs, pancakes and bacon, and to hear Mrs. Bush extol Drake's virtues.

"I urge you to redouble your efforts between now and November and make sure Thelma Drake is re-elected to Congress,'' Mrs. Bush said.

Drake, R-Norfolk, is in a tough battle with Democratic challenger Phil Kellam of Virginia Beach.
