just showed all the protesters. I couldn't believe it. We had protesters out there for everything from minimum wage to the war in Iraq. And they were what was on the news.

I guess it was a fund raiser and there really wasn't any "event." News had to show something besides a black limo so they showed the protesters.

2. I was there
I was there yesterday. There were a few newsreporters there, but the coverage from kc star seemed to be slanted as far as their video I reviewed this morning. There were at most 10 Talent supporters and about 250 + protestors. The video shown by KC star makes it sound like it was at least equal and it was not! http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/..see link for video protestors vie for attention. As far as TV coverage, I dont actually live in KC so I am not sure how they covered it. I did check all the links for coverage this morning and seen CBS actually had video.

It was a fairly good rally, I just wished more democrats were able to attend. We had more pro honks than negative. We had some apathatic drivers, who didn't pay attention at all. I was glad to be a part of this. We need more feet on the street events. The Republican party is so huge and so powerful, hell, they seem to own everything. We need to gather in masses, like the sixties. Camp Democracy is happening right now. I hope to be able to attend for a few days. http://www.campdemocracy.org/

I also hope we are all involved in our local democratic party. It's going to take door to door and phone banking. We need to have solidarity in the democrat party. We need to be all inclusive and provide a party front for what we stand for.

3. NoTalent's young republicans
Too bad there isn't any footage/audio of us shouting down the young repubs with our our chants of "Sign up or shut up".

I did so enjoy yelling "draft young republicans" at the group across the street and to any young people in cars who gave indications that they disagreed with our protest.

Damn it!! We need to have enlistment forms on hand for every protest/rally. And it would be particularly delicious to video their reactions...and post on YouTube.

The YRs (http://www.kcgop.com/) meet on the last Thursday of the month (upcoming would be September 8) at the Plaza III (bunch of rich kids apparently) at 7:00 p.m. Maybe we could "encounter" them.

7. We went to one of their meetings last spring
They threatened to call the cops on us. I guess they were absent the day in Civics class when they were taught that it is not against the law to stand on a sidewalk. :eyes:

4. I found more video coverage channel 9 kc and I was first one shown!
My first protest and I was captured on video, I guess I may be on "THE LIST" now...lol. I am the one first shown with short dark hair and sun glasses, holding "IMPEACH" sign. The flip side of the sign said "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. http://www.thekansascitychannel.com/video/9813349/index.html

I guess more people were there than I realized! Still need more FEET ON THE STREET, for news coverage.
