Live blog of Senator kerry's speech NOW at Daily Kos.
This is going to be some speech. Gary Hart is there the place is packed and a tremendous amount of press are hovering. He will be addressing national security.- and he is really angry about the state of our security.

1. Gary Hart speaking now
Live blog from TayTay:

Starts off with a quote from Louis Brandeis about valuing liberty and people who valued it as the secret of happiness. (Will have to get the quote, it was good.)

Sen. Kart is pointing out that America has failed to actually meet the test before it and we have failed to secure our borders because of the war in Iraq. This is draining our resources and putting our actual liberties at risk.

Hart also brought Katrina into the discussion, as it proves who ill-prepared we are to meet a crisis.

National security is no taken seriously by the Admin, we need leaders who understand that our energy dependency on oil puts us at risk. We need leaders who don't put Constitutional rights away to harp fear all the time.

Sen. Hart is praising Kerry as leader and as one who has been 'in the fight' for a long time. (Nice kuddos to the Mass crowd: Good for you for having the good sense to elect good Dems. LOL!)

4. I LOVE the type of post- blow by blow coverage- for those of us who cannot
be there - AND CANNOT WATCH VIDEOS - because we have dial-up because we're poor.

Nice not to be forgotten. Hope more DU'rs will take the hint.

:)

6. Yes, please have pity on us!
Although I've found out I *can* watch video if I hit "pause" as soon as it starts and then go away for a long time.

(For the kind that doesn't offer a download option, that is--if I can download it, I do--just leave and come back. But it has to be something I want *really* bad, like Alan's speech on Boston Legal last year, 'cause it still takes *lots* of time.)

But whenever possible, yes! yes! give me text!

13. Yes, Syd, took place at Faneuil Hall. Tay Tay described it
as a barn burner; can't wait to see it!

8. I'm shocked at the "tremendous amount of press" aspect. I just don't see
the press doing its actual job and covering real Democratic leaders in any detail.

I guess we'll see what comes of it, but I won't hold my breath where corpmedia is concerned.

12. I just got back from my day in Boston. It was well worth the trip!
This speech packed a punch. Talk about kicking ASS.

It wasn't all that long (unless you count all the times we interrupted him with applause) but it was powerful. The place was packed and the audience did a lot of applauding and cheering. Oh heck, I did quite a bit of that myself.

This was so good I'm still lightheaded. You'll see tomorrow, when it airs on C-Span. I hope they pull back and show the cheering crowd. It was amazing. Even the balconies were full.
