Poll question: Will Kean's son suffer politically because of the ABC/Disney/9/11 fiction?
Remember his son is running for office in New Jersey.

1. Can't say what the effect may be, but I hope the gathering at Menendez
headquarters on Nov. 7th is a huge victory party.

2. His son is a total Bushbot from what I could tell from hearing him
on TV. He is not a very good speaker. Kind of stammers like Bush. Probably lying like Bush.

3. If you feel it's necessary to remind DUers about the relationship...
...how many voters might actually be aware of one?

9. Okay, whatever, no big deal.
Sitting on the other side of the continent in another country, I can hardly pretend to know what's going on in NJ politics.

I just thought it was interesting that you chose to use the word "remember". I guess I was just reading too much into your post.

14. They're not
I live here. There is no talk about Kean's connection to ABC's propaganda piece.

6. Menedez can attack Kean sr. for his conflict of interest.
He could tie that into his son who has a questionable record too.

8. Yes, just his agreeing to be part of
this so-called docudrama shouts Politics! from the very first. And his being uglier than home made sin doesn't help.

10. Are the people who keep saying this actually FROM NJ?
If they are and they have evidence, then fine. But I'm a lifelong NJ resident and I live and work with NJ residents of all political stripes and degrees of political awareness. And most people I know of aren't even aware of the brouhaha surrounding this film, let alone that Tom Kean has a connection to it. It's not being advertised as "Tom Kean presents..." or "Featuring consultant Tom Kean..." or any of that. So the notion of this having an effect relies on an assumption that a huge or even semi substantial number of voters in NJ:
A)Know about the hubub surrounding this movie.
B)Know that Tom Kean Jr.'s father had a role to play in the script and structure of the movie.
C)Don't already have their mind made up on the partisan divide between Menendez and Kean.
D)Would care more about a movie in determining their vote than they would property taxes, corruption, crime, Iraq, etc.

Again, any fellow NJ residents who have anecdotal evidence contrary to mine I'd like to hear the feedback and good news that I'm wrong on this from them. But to me this is pretty much a ridiculous assumption by people who don't live here and know what's going on in NJ.

13. NJ resident here. I haven't heard any talk connecting Kean to the film
Right now, the local papers are headlining "Menendez being investigated by attorney general's office". Menendez is correct when he claims that NJ AG Chris Christie (GOP, and probable candidate for Lautenberg's Senate seat in 2008) has timed his investigation to coincide with the run-up to Election Day.

15. Exactly......
I see that whole thing as being more of an issue than this film. I realize people on here just like the media we claim to hate have 1 track minds and can't really fathom that people in the real world think about things OTHER than what is all the rage on blogs.

As for the Menendez thing, I'd like to hear more about it and whatever evidence there is. I like him, and I'm proud of his voting record in the short time he's been in the Senate. But on the face of what's being charged with the whole collecting rent from the non-profit thing doesn't smell too good. I mean I'm voting for him either way, but I'd rather be doing so without having to caveat it with a parsing of a legitimate ethics breach, dubious timing or not.

12. Tom Kean Jr. is a tool for the Club For Growth
That organization is funding and coordinating a big chunk of his campaign. Here's a clue from Kean's website:

"Tom also supports a repeal of the unfair Death Tax that penalizes hardworking Americans for the achievements of a lifetime. (my underline)
