I wonder...

It seems to me that there could be some hidden dangers in their replaying the whole thing...

Just one example: How long before Bin Laden was brought up? Why was he brought up? I hope the timing doesn't embarass them in any way.

Then again, I'm sure they have a team "cleansing" the coverage too..

1. I have the original MSNBC feed taped on 9/11/01...
bin laden was brought up before the South Tower fell (by Chris Jansing).

5. Her exact words were:
"...this can be the work of only one man, Osama bin Laden." No source given...

4. Why is that a surprise? It was the first name that came to my mind..
....when I saw the second plane hit.

7. Really? I think that's bizarre.
5 billion people on the planet and you KNEW it was OBL. Amazing!

8. No, actually bin Laden was well known before 9/11...
He was named when the embassies were blown up in 1998, and when the USS Cole was attacked in 2000.

I distinctly recall thinking of bin Laden when the second tower was hit.

10. I guess I had been paying attention.

I remember being on the phone with my friend saying "It's that fucking Osama Bin Laden guy." I don't know if I would say "KNEW" but it was a pretty educated guess. IIRC, besides the Cole bombing and the embassy bombings they put out those recruiting videos that the media played - videos of the hole in the side of the Cole and masked ninja looking characters shooting cardboard cut-outs of Clinton etc.

9. As did I
I remember thinking of OBL on 9/11.

But then I was also remembering the USS Cole and Embassy bombings at the time.

Though, I can say that most of the people I work with, if not all, had no idea who OBL was at the time.

3. They had reporters talking about secondary, tertiary explosions
And black helicopters at the Pentagon.

And comments about it "looking like demolition".

I wonder if they'll censor these bits?

If you go back and look at the videos of local news coverage of the OK City bombing you'll see "live" reports of reporters mentioning the discovery of bombs in the Murrah Building and the sending in of bomb removal squads.

It really is amazing to hear what eyewitnesses say and just how quickly these reports are forgotten or put aside.
