Chertoff: What the heck favor did he do for someone to get him his
current position? That's the only question that comes to mind every time I see this man. He was a judge, right? Who did he get off? What favor did he do? He so freaking inept and incompetent. How does this creepy little man become such a security expert that he, above all more qualified others in the land, is placed at the head of DHS?

Edit...

snip...

Chertoff is the co-author, along with Viet Dinh, of the USA PATRIOT Act, signed into law October 26, 2001. As head of the Justice Department's criminal division, he advised the Central Intelligence Agency on the outer limits of legality in coercive interrogation sessions.

In 2000, Chertoff worked as special counsel to the New Jersey State Senate Judiciary Committee, investigating racial profiling in New Jersey. He also did some fundraising for George W. Bush and other Republicans during the 2000 election cycle and advised Bush's presidential campaign on criminal justice issues. From 2001 to 2003, he headed the criminal division of the Department of Justice, leading the prosecution's case against terrorist suspect Zacarias Moussaoui and against accounting firm Arthur Andersen for destroying documents relating to the Enron collapse. His prosecution of Arthur Andersen was controversial, resulting in the collapse of the firm and the loss of employment by its 26,000 employees. The Supreme Court overturned the conviction and the case has not been retried. At the DOJ, he also came under fire as one of the chief architects of the Bush Administration's legal strategies in the War on Terror, particularly regarding the detainment of thousands of Middle Eastern immigrants. Chertoff was appointed to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia by Bush on March 5, 2003, and was confirmed by the Senate 88-1 on June 9.

Michael Chertoff is sworn-in by George W. BushIn late 2004, after the controversial Bernard Kerik was forced to decline President Bush's offer to replace the outgoing Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, a lengthy search ensued to find a suitable replacement. Citing his experience with post-9/11 terror legislation, Bush nominated Chertoff to the post in January 2005. He was unanimously approved for the position of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security by the Senate on February 15, 2005.

Most recently Chertoff has managed the FEMA response to Hurricane Katrina. On the third of September, several days after the initial strike of the hurricane many (including the New Orleans mayor, Ray Nagin) indicated severe dissatisfaction with the response from Washington, citing the delay between the general knowledge of the storm's likely impact and any effective federal response. Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco declared a state of emergency on August 26 <1>; a week later, New Orleans remained in a state of chaos. MORE...

2. He was of the right party.
Heck this party gets rid of Generals if they do not go with the party. Look at Bush's history. Right name got him where he is. His father was said to have done all the steps so the WH was next. I will say he did the steps so guess he learned some thing, Bush just jumped in deep water.

10. he was one of the bill clinton is a a blow-job-sinning-liar bastards who
kept the torch of impeachment blazing hot. (and i was recently surprised to hear susan mcDougal say that at one point during the impeachment trials, Richard Benveniste--on the Clinton side of the equation did not want to talk to her because she offered to tell the truth...then Chertoff got wind that she wanted to talk, called her and asked her what it was that she wanted to tell, she said she wanted to tell the truth, and she says he hung up and never heard from him again).

Chertoff danced to the tune of POPPY BUSH who wanted to PUNISH CLINTON FOR HIS 1992 vICTORY.

I cannot figure out why Benveniste did not want McDougal's truth out there. And I cannot figure out why Bill Clinton has become so cooooozied up with old man bush when he knows all the bastard things bush orchestrated against him. perhaps bill clinton is closer to the jesus "forgive your neighbor" than we ever imagined.

12. I saw a brief interview of him the other night and he was lying
I think it was Hardball W/Tweety. He and Tweety were breathlessly discussing the latest fabricated terror plot about mixing liquids on planes to make bombs. Both men continued to act as though terrorists could easily mix liquids on a plane to create an explosive device. The British publication The Register recently wrote that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for terrorists to make a bomb as described by Homeland Security. The whole thing was simply made up.
