If dems don't take back the house this year,
what are the remaining years going to be like in this country? Anyone thought as to what laws will be passed and what laws will be struck down? What about on the international front? Will another rightwing justice be seated? What could possibly be the strategy of the dems the remaining years of the current nightmare?

1. They need to take back the Senate to stop the right wing justice.

2. True but doesn't look like it will happen. If they take back the
house, articles of impeachment can be introduced. Once that starts, it will be harder to get the "up or down vote" canard in the Senate going to get one of them seated.

9. Even if the Democrats do take back the house, the chimpenfuherer can veto
our legislation, so what I suggest you do: put financial pressure on GOP contributors and force them to go to the congress to pass our agenda or lose alot of our business.

You can do this now at http://www.dmocrats.org

3. There will be a civil war in the US.....
Edited on Sat Sep-09-06 12:08 AM by MadMaddie
many think this is far fetched but if 60% of the poplulation agrees that this administration and it's actions are destroying the country....and if 60% of those people vote Democratic.....then I suspect the protests and the riots of the late 60s and early 70s will look like a picnic....

I am not an alarmist but something is going to give in this country if things don't change....

4. I believe America will cease to exist
If the Nazis win again, I really believe we will start to see a secessionist movement in blue states.

5. Pretty much true.
We are as sick of the RW as they are infuriated at us for not thinking exactly the way they do. Not much room for compromise.

12. I fully expect the USA to break up like the USSR did
Several factors triggering secession will be the extreme polarization and intolerance, also the impact of the National Debt. I'd love to see the blue states go and leave the red states with the bill for the debt. Let thee Red states force everyone to pray to Jesus and see how Jesus sits on his ass and does nothing while those debt payments keep going through the roof!

10. It'll crumble just like the Soviet Union did.
Just like every empire in history. The greed at the top from both sides of the aisle has completely rotted the country from within. It's just too big and corrupt to be held together for much longer.

This is nothing new. The same circumstances spelled the end of the Roman, French, and British Empires as well.

And anyone who does not think we are an empire, is sadly deluded. You can always tell the size of an Empire by their military presence. How many military bases do we have in foreign countries? How many foreign military bases are on our soil?

11. Republicans have richly earned voters' distrust. The U.S. House goes blue
in November.

I think there's still reason to hope the Senate will, too.

Plenty of hard work remains in the next 60 days or so but it's work worth doing.

Volunteer and help good Democrats in races at all levels.

else the beginning of an attempt to save it!
