5. I think we need to all realize that they're attempting to insert their
party apparatus into as many sectors of society as they can. Media is an especially high-value target for them. It's too bad that there is no liberal counterpart to this maneuver.

10. What the hell were Disney/ABC thinking?
Having these guys making a monumental six hour long mini-series about 9/11 for you?

They cannot all be bumbling idiots. Because even the most casual observer of american politics over the last ten years would smell a shit-storm brewing over this. And yet, they did it. Unbelivable...

This has got to be one of the biggest blunders in television history

19. Sure, but not brain dead stupid
9/11 was such a humongous event, striking a raw nerve in just about everybody on a scale never seen before.

After five years 9/11 is still largely an unsettled business in most peoples mind. The invasion of Afghanistan may have felt as payback, but it didn't settle the issue. Iraq didn't help much either. Today, the main perpetrators are still at large and a lot of questions has not been answered. To sum it up: there is still a lot of blame to trow around, but at who?

Say hello to Disney/ABC:
A household brand, entering the stage with a blatantly false "docu-drama" about the events that lead up to that dreadful day. They claim it's based on the 9/11 commission-report, but that's also been proven to be a lie. To make matters worse. It's by now clear that the purpose of "The path to 9/11" has next to nothing to do with the events it pretends to describe. Rather, it's a propaganda tool in disguise, piggybacking on the collective grief of millions of people to push a hidden agenda.

It's been exposed for what it is, and Disney/ABC has some how managed to put them self on the receiving end of five years worth of frustration and anger from millions of americans.

That is an almost unachievable accomplishment, but they are about to do it.

15. It would have been nice, IF he used it...
Was there anything turned up here at DU that wouldn't be turned up by a competent reporter taking the obvious step of looing into just who the producers were? Or was it simply a case of two parallel inquiries finding much the same information?

But at least our information corroborates his findings.

12. MUST READ!
Before The Path to 9/11 entered the production stage, Disney/ABC contracted David Cunningham as the film's director. Cunningham is no ordinary Hollywood journeyman. He is in fact the son of Loren Cunningham, founder of the right-wing evangelical group Youth With A Mission (YWAM). The young Cunningham helped found an auxiliary of his father's group called The Film Institute (TFI), which, according to its mission statement, is "dedicated to a Godly transformation and revolution TO and THROUGH the Film and Televisionindustry." As part of TFI's long-term strategy, Cunningham helped place interns from Youth With A Mission's in film industry jobs "so that they can begin to impact and transform Hollywood from the inside out," according to a YWAM report.

Last June, Cunningham's TFI announced it was producing its first film, mysteriously titled "Untitled History Project." "TFI's first project is a doozy," a newsletter to YWAM members read. "Simply being referred to as: The Untitled History Project, it is already being called the television event of the decade and not one second has been put to film yet. Talk about great expectations!" (A web edition of the newsletter was mysteriously deleted yesterday but has been cached on Google at the link above).

The following month, on July 28, the New York Post reported that ABC was filming a mini-series "under a shroud of secrecy" about the 9/11 attacks. "At the moment, ABC officials are calling the miniseries 'Untitled Commission Report' and producers refer to it as the 'Untitled History Project,'" the Post noted.

Early on, Cunningham had recruited a young Iranian-American screenwriter named Cyrus Nowrasteh to
write the script of his secretive "Untitled" film. Not only is Nowrasteh an outspoken conservative, he is also a fervent member of the emerging network of right-wing people burrowing into the film industry with ulterior sectarian political and religious agendas, like Cunningham.

13. We need to make sure anyone associated with TFI and YWAM...
... never get work in Hollywood again. Although, I'm sure if ABC/Disney have to eat it on this one and not show it, they will take care of that themselves.

14. What a sickening-sweet read, and this left me in dismay...
""'The Path to 9/11' is one of the best, most intelligent, most pro-American miniseries I've ever seen on TV, and conservatives should support
it and promote it as vigorously as possible,"

The Right has no Heroes to Cheer, So they make up Villains to Jeer and call themselves Right.

Secret 9/11 Miniseries Planned
By Roger Friedman

<...>
Historians should have a field day with this version of the decade-long
terrorist plot. But why not? Screenwriter Cyrus Nowrasteh got his start on
another soap opera, "Falcon Crest." He also wrote the upcoming miniseries
"Into the West" and was cited for "The Day Reagan Was Shot." Marc Platt is
the producer, and David L. Cunningham - who helmed the recent miniseries
revival of "Little House on the Prairie" and several B-movies - will direct.
<...>

More on Cyrus Norasteh

http://groups.google.com/group/misc.activism.progressive/browse_thread/thread/76ee3f5388d3c8f3/3d7f90495a019c9e?lnk=st&q=Cyrus+Nowrasteh+Regime+Change+Iran&rnum=1&hl=en#3d7f90495a019c9e

Yet chief "Path to 9/11"
scriptwriter Cyrus Nowrasteh, a friend of Rush Limbaugh, says the
miniseries shows how President Clinton had "frequent opportunities in
the '90s to stop Bin Laden in his tracks -- but lacked the will to do so."
ABC asked only the Republican co-chair of the 9/11 Commission, Tom
Kean, Sr., to advise the makers of "The Path to 9/11". The producers
optioned two books, one written by a Bush administration political
appointee, as the basis of the screenplay -- yet bill the miniseries
as "based on the 9/11 Commission Report."
