Essex County College Stand Down For Veterans N.J. Homeless vets
Homeless veterans to get helping hand

Hot Meals, haircuts and winter clothing will be available for homeless veterans and their families at the North Jersy Stand Down at Essex County College in Newark.

This program that is happening across the Country . Dates when happening I will post. The program will provide veterans and family members with health care, medical screening, counseling on veterans benefits and substance abuse, and legal and employment service.

Stand down started in Chicago three years ago. 33 Percent of all the homeless are veterans. Due to Bush's 2007 Veterans Budget that number will double. We have found veterans from Iraq and Afghanastan homeless with families in tow. When you hear a replug say we support the troops ask them this why are there so many homeless veterans since Bush took office.
