Hear the new spin, same as the old spin...
Am I the only one who is reading the news or listening to speeches and screaming? Just how stupid are we as a nation that we can’t see what is happening right in front of us?

The President and his administration leaders are in full press mode, touring the country and giving speech after speech in the run-up to the 9/11 anniversary. Their message? I’m paraphrasing, but it’s something like this – “Republicans will keep you safe and Democrats will get you killed by terrorists.”

The nerve of these people is unbelievable.

Imagine a teenager with a new license. He drives while drunk and crashes your car. Now you have no way to get to work or get him to school. And what is his response? “Well, we can argue back and forth about what happened, but we really need to focus on the transportation problem.”

Are you kidding me? How can you discuss the solution to a problem while ignoring the cause? That is exactly what the administration and their favorite Democrat, Joe Lieberman, are doing with the discussion of Iraq.

“Look, we can argue about what happened three and four and five years ago. It has some significance. Ultimately, history will be the judge of that,” Lieberman said Thursday. “The reality is we are in Iraq now. The question is: How do we best conclude our involvement?”

The attitude is so cavalier that it makes my head spin. The statements they make completely gloss over how we got to where we are in Iraq. Bush and Cheney and Rice say, “well, we are in Iraq now and we need to focus on what it takes to get the job done.” They act like they inherited the war and are the only ones that can resolve the situation.

Where is the responsibility? Where is the accountability? And for the love of this country, where are the Democratic leaders calling the administration out on their spin?
