Whatever happens regarding the ultimate fate of the Path to 9-11, it can be considered a victory already, IMO.

A coiple of days ago I wrote that this was a test of whether we on the left half of the spectrum are able to kick up an effective and unified fight, as the right has become so good at doing (i.e. the Reagan biopic a couple of years ago).

We did it. The anger of the "grassroots" was shared and carried forward by Dems higher up the political food chain, and we all basically spoke with one voice about ABC's travesty.

And, more important, we managed to put the fear of God into the Corporate Media Elite, instead of their usual dismissiveness. ABC has blinked. Even if they choose to air it, they have been forced to buy Maalox in large qualtities.

Now, let's hope we can transfer that kind of Moxie and unity to bigger issues.

1. I am getting paranoid
Has anyone considered we may have played right into their hands?

No one had even heard of this movie, it was up against a football game, who would have watched.

Lots of things were brought up that could have been forgotten (Berger).

The media is portraying us as whiny, not true but hurtful. Free speech complaints.

The CEO of Disney is a huge Democratic contributor, are we biting the hand?

I am so fearful of Rove; I have started seeing his hand in everything.

Help someone, make me feel I am wrong!

2. Whiny
Stop.

Fighting for truth is never wrong. I think your questioning yourself about fighting for truth is more in line with what "they" want.

Repeat: Fighting for truth is never wrong.

6. Okay...
I'll try to convince you that you're wrong.

This movie would have had an effect without the publicity. It would have made viewers believe a lot of false crap about Clinton administration.

Sure ABC was probably initially happy about the publicity and controversy. But it went beyond that. They're worried that with a potential takeover of Congress by the dems, the media owners might be held accountable for a change. So when the Democratic power-brokers joined in the grassroots outrage over this film, the media bosses got nervous.

As for the CEO of Disney, I don't care if he supports Bernie Sanders as a person. The Disney/ABC Empire is rotten to the core these days. They are the folks who brought you Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and right-wing talk radio with NO liberal balance, for example....So we're not biting any hand that feeds us, because they are starving us already.

As for free speech...I support free speech. But Corporate Control to spread lies without providing no equivalent alternative is not free speech. OUR free speech has been under seige for years. So the right and the Corporate Massas are just getting a taste of their own medicine.

3. And they did a masterstroke in the Senate
yesterday proposing the amendment to provide 200 million to find bin Laden.

That was a Democratic amendment and shot the pukes right through the knees. Who is tough on national security again? I'm sorry, I didn't hear you. Who? Ha ha ha ha.

9. We don't need a bin Laden tape
Remember how in the spring the biggest "threat" our country faced was illegal immigration?

Now since the London bomb plot was revealed, we're back to Terra,Terra, Terra. Rove and the complacent media have worked their magic without bin Laden.

We suffer a collective case of ADHD.
