Bush plans prime time Sept. 11 address

President Bush will make a prime-time address from the Oval Office on Monday to mark the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

White House press secretary Tony Snow said the administration had requested network time for the address at 9:01 p.m. EDT. The address is expected to run 16 to 18 minutes, he said.

The speech will come after Bush visits each of the attack sites, in New York, Shanksville, Pa., and the
Pentagon, where terrorist hijackers used commercial airliners as weapons to kill nearly 3,000 people.

Snow said Bush's address would not be a political speech or a charge to Congress for action. Rather, he said, it would be reflective of what Sept. 11 has meant and "how we move ahead as a country in making use of the lessons of Sept. 11."

"It will have a note of optimism as well as sobriety about what we've been through," Snow said.

2. What time are the ballgames? If they are interrupted for Bush, fans will
be angry. Remember the Heidi incident years ago.

If he is broadcast only on stations that are not carrying the game, nobody will listen to it. He loses either way.

30. So if we are attacked again, will the blame be placed on ** for
NOT capturing Osama in Tora Bora when he had the chance? Opps, that's probably Clinton's fault too. :silly:

9. Hmmm... isn't Pt 2 of the 9/11 mockudrama on that night?
...and wouldn't THAT be the night in which they discuss Bush's failures on 9/11? Would they just pre-empt it for the Bush address?

Sounds MIGHTY stinky to me!!!!!!

We have really entered the old communist propaganda times i.e.
Stalin helped liberate Berlin.
Kim Ill of North Korea has written 100 operas and shoots golf in the 60s
Nicolae Ceau?escu of Romania went hunting and got 5 bears, 50 deer,
and 200 birds.

12. Bush gonna be on the teevee on September 11?
Someplace he was notably absent from on September 11 five years ago. Maybe he'll treat us all to a recounting of his antics that day, from sitting on his ass in that classroom to scurrying off to Louisiana to running like a scared rabbit to Nebraska. So inspiring! Such sunny nobility!

13. And who will deliver the Democratic response immediately afterward?
Oh, silly me ... it's "not a political speech," so the networks won't have to let any Democrats speak afterward.

This is pure total crap. ABC should lose its license if it puts Bush's speech along side their bullshit docuganda.

22. Barf gag barf
I'm sure glad I don't have a TV to watch this unpaid political ad. Knowing how everything this administration has done was predicated on 9/11 happening and knowing PNAC's need for another Pearl Harbor it just infuriates the hell out of me that they can put on the charades they do.

I pray for instant karma for Snow and the whole damn bunch of them.

31. I can already hear the massive clicking sound of
remotes being switched to TVLand or Style or AMC or Bravo or even HSN. Americans have had it with the moron and his terror obsession.

How ironic is Snow's use of the word "sobriety" to describe the chimp's tone? Chimp probably hasn't had a sober day in years.
